The Pope is a Jesuit and he named himself Francis
Some (incl. WaPo) like to THINK he named himself after St. Francis
But the Franciscans and Jesuits are Diametrically opposed like night and day. It is an Oxymoron.
The Pope has worded things which implies he ALSO wants you to think he named himself after Francis of Assisi (Giovanni Di Petro de Bernardone) but I am certain he is a Jesuit Loyalist. (Loyola-ist KEK) -- and convinced he named himself Francis
after the founder of the Jesuit order:

He was Basque (it says Navarese) but Xavier is Basque not Navarese (Javier is Spanish Navarese to my knowledge)
