Not really that dire. The cops protect the rich from you. They are the "Thugs and street gangs" to some degree.
Honestly, I'll quote myself here:
If a society is fails simply for the lack of a professional police force, then that society was, by definition, a police state, and had already failed.
police need to be scaled back to Constitutional limitations. They need to be fired the second that they violate anyone's rights. They need to be accountable to the public and not permitted to fraternize. Their duties need to be restricted to responding to violent crime when called, not patrolling looking for trouble. They should be in fear of losing their badge if they arrest someone like Kyle Rittenhouse without a warrant, or point their weapon at someone who just scared off a bunch of antifa with his own gun.
They should not be selected for having a lower than average IQ so they will not run off to become lawyers and judges and CEOs using their street credit to leapfrog in those industries. If you make it 10 times harder to be a cop, there will still be climbers crawling over each other to get the job. Same as now.
And they need to stop answering domestic calls altogether. If there is no restraining order, they have no reason to be there. It should be one call for one home, then they start arresting people for wasting the taxpayer's money on their personal BS.
