(Civil Disorder) "Although there is limited case law on the statute, courts have identified various limiting principles on its application. For example, the statute has been read to only regulate violent physical acts and does not concern speech. In this vein, one federal appellate court upheld the civil disorder conviction of a defendant who threw a cherry bomb at a line of police officers responding to a fire at a riot."
