America was founded by Christians who fled persecution, and wanted to maintain the ability to freely practice their religion. They tolerated the freedom of others to practice their own religion, but it was never intended to allow other religions to force their own beliefs/law/practices upon them.
The bill of rights was created after the Constitution by politically motivated individuals. The Constitution is the Supreme law of the land, which established all we needed. The bill of rights started to fuck that up by saying the government could do this and that instead of say stay the hell out of our lives…
