Media Malfeasance: Rasmussen Reports Creates Hideously Biased Image of Trump for New Poll

You can always tell when a media company is trying to influence you when they use bad photos of politicians. I do it. It’s fun. But that type of editorializing should be saved for editorials, or opinion articles, where the opinion of the author is well known.

When news organizations that claim to be objective engage in such bias, it’s unfair. That’s exactly what Rasmussen Reports did when they released their new poll showing that Donald Trump and Joe Biden are nearly equal in voter trust on most issues.

Look at the image they created to go with the poll. Does this seem fair and objective to you?

Donald Trump is depicted as a snarling, shouting maniac while Joe Biden looks like he should be on a bottle of salad dressing, complete with twinkling eyes. You can’t even see eyes on the president. They’re just black slits. This is the kind of malfeasance that should be called out. It’s a type of brainwashing and it should be stopped.

Commenters noticed the problem immediately. “Why does that picture of the president look like that?” said one commenter. “That is a very biased graphic,” said another. “Going forward, please have an adult look at your graphics before publication. This is embarrassing,” tweeted another.

The media has violated our trust in so many ways and now it seems they don’t even care and are just going for it. All pretenses have been dropped. Trump is bad, Biden is good and they’re all in. The Enemy of the People has come out from behind the mask and it’s a sad end to the institution of news media. What clowns they have become.

"I Acted In Self-Defense": Portland Murder Suspect Makes First Public Appearance After Deadly Shooting

The suspect in last weekend's murder of Aaron "Jay" Danielson says he acted in self defense when he fired on the "Patriot Prayer" supporter.

In an interview with freelance journalist Donovan Farley provided to VICE News, 48-year-old Michael Forest Reinoehl - a former military contractor and father of two who claims to be "100% Antifa" - says he was providing "security" at Black Lives Matter protests, when he says he believes he and a friend were about to be stabbed.

"You know, lots of lawyers suggest that I shouldn't even be saying anything, but I feel it's important that the world at least gets a little bit of what's really going on," says Reinoehl.

"I had no choice – I mean, I had a choice. I could have sat there and watched them kill a friend of mine of color. But I wasn't going to do that."

Reinoehl has not been arrested or charged, and Portland police declined to say if he is the target of its investigation into the killing of Aaron “Jay” Danielson, who was taking part in a pro-Trump rally with an estimated 600 trucks winding through the city that night. But in a conversation with freelance journalist Donovan Farley provided to VICE News and airing in full Thursday night, Reinoehl said he believed he and a friend were about to be stabbed, and that he acted in self defense. -Vice

Alabama State Senator Arrested 2 Days After Resigning

(MONTGOMERY) — Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the arrest of David Burkette, a former Democrat state senator, Montgomery city councilman, and Montgomery Public Schools educator, for violating Alabama’s Fair Campaign Practices Act.

On September 1, 2020, Burkette, 63, a resident of Montgomery County, resigned from his position as state senator for District 26. The Real Threat to U.S. Elections Doesn’t Come from Beijing or Moscow

It’s our own national security bureaucracy.

This month, U.S. intelligence reported that Russia wants Donald Trump to win reelection, while China and Iran seek to help Joe Biden. Both sides of the political aisle have cited the report, claiming that one adversary or another would be happy if the other party takes power in January.

It shouldn’t surprise us that foreign countries have preferences about American electoral outcomes. Why wouldn’t they, given U.S. influence in the world? According to political scientist Lindsey O'Rourke, during the Cold War, the United States engaged in 64 attempts at covert regime change. More recently, we have overthrown and ultimately helped kill leaders in Iraq and Libya, while aiming to replace governments in Syria and Venezuela. Hillary Clinton believes that Vladimir Putin’s grudge against her goes back to comments she made about the 2011 parliamentary elections in Russia, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently urged the Chinese people to overthrow their government.

Given the American propensity for regime change overseas, it makes sense that other nations would seek, in turn, to interfere in American politics—for reasons of self-defense, if nothing else. What’s less understandable is the moral indignation that American leaders express about what are relatively minor incursions, compared with U.S. violations of some of the most fundamental rules of international law.

Nearly two decades ago, Vladimir Putin and the Chinese Communists warned the United States against invading Iraq. Those who opposed the war at home were criticized as unpatriotic and apologists for Saddam Hussein. Therefore, was the Iraq War a good idea because Saddam, the Chinese, and the Russians were all against it?

As the Iraq War should remind us, the world is usually not zero-sum. China, Iran, and Russia do not want conflict with the U.S. For self-interested reasons alone, they would prefer a world with less war, a lower likelihood of major pandemics like Covid-19, and a stronger global economy. To spite our rivals, should we, therefore, be in favor of disease, war, and depression?

Of course, it’s possible that China or Russia wants a certain side to win in November because it sees an opportunity to take advantage of Americans or engage in foreign aggression. Nonetheless, simply knowing which candidate Xi or Putin favors tells us nothing about which way Americans should vote.

Right now, Americans are extremely pessimistic about their institutions and the direction of the country. Yet, as liberal journalist Ezra Klein argues in his recent Why We’re Polarized, the system may be broken from the perspective of what’s good for the country, but it still works fairly well from the perspective of those in power. Government contractors still get paid, lobbyists make major profits, and top government officials can still leverage their time in power into lucrative private-sector work. Coming from the other side of the political spectrum, Charles Murray’s Coming Apart documented how the Washington, D.C. metro area has become home to the nation’s wealthiest counties in recent decades.

Why San Francisco Is In Trouble: 19,000 Highly Compensated City Employees Earned Over $150,000

The San Francisco Bay Area is home to wonders of the modern world like the Golden Gate Bridge and Silicon Valley — as well as powerful progressive politicians like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Governor Gavin Newsom, and U.S. Senator (and vice-presidential hopeful) Kamala Harris.

But the city is in trouble. Whenever we open the books, San Francisco consistently ranks among the worst tax-and-spend offenders.

In fact, the city’s $1.5 billion budget deficit isn’t stopping 18,759 highly compensated employees from each bringing home pay packages worth $150,000 (or more) annually.

We found truck drivers loaded up with $262,898; city painters making $270,190; firefighters earning $316,306; and plumbing supervisors cleaning up $348,291 every year. One deputy sheriff earned $574,595 last year – including $315,896 in overtime.

On average, the city’s 44,526 employees received pay and perks costing taxpayers $131,335 apiece. Four out of ten – 18,749 city workers – received a compensation package exceeding $150,000 per year.

The pay package includes retirement, health, overtime, pension, and other benefits on top of base salary.

Mayor’s Office – San Francisco Mayor London Breed cost taxpayers $452,421 – the highest paid mayor in the country. Breed enjoys a $342,974 salary and an additional $109,447 in benefit perks. Incredibly, there are another thirty-one staffers in her office with total comp exceeding $200,000 annually.

Police and Sheriff departments– The combined 4,418 employees of the city’s law enforcement agencies cost taxpayers $831 million in compensation last year for an average cost of over $188,000 per person. The police are called “peace officers.”

Because San Francisco is both a city and a county, it has both a sheriff and police department. Sheriff deputies run the jails, enforce civil judgements, and provide security for court cases, while the police patrol the city.

Police Chief William Scott earned $434,613 ($338,482 salary and $96,131 benefits). Four assistant chiefs (police and management) received between $346,528 and $445,539. Then, there were 195 employees with pay and perks exceeding $300,000 each.

Matt Dorsey, the director of strategic communications, responded to our comment request by saying that successful implementation of recent reforms was costly.

Sheriff Paul Miyamoto made $357,570 in total compensation. Overall, the sheriff paid out $100,000+ in overtime pay to fifty employees including $315,896 in overtime to a senior deputy sheriff with total comp of $574,595.

The sheriff responded to our request for comment through Nancy Hayden Crowley, director of communications: “My department continues to work on creative solutions to meet our staffing minimums and the public safety challenges that we all face on a reduced budget.”

Overall, the two departments employed 3,775 people – or roughly 8.5 out of every ten employees – with comp packages that exceeded $100,000.

Russia Spotted 43 Foreign Spy Jets Close to National Airspace Over Past Week

The Russian Armed Forces detected 43 foreign jets that were engaged in reconnaissance activities close to Russia’s airspace last week, the military’s official newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda reported on Friday.

A weekly infographic published by the outlet showed that Russian fighter jets had been scrambled five times to intercept foreign aircraft.

The foreign jets had been prevented from illegally entering Russia’s airspace, the newspaper said.

Within this period of time, Russia has also spotted three unmanned aerial vehicles, which were carrying out reconnaissance missions near the Russian borders.

The United States and NATO countries often send aircraft and drones to perform reconnaissance activities along Russia's borders in the Baltic, in the Black Sea off Crimea and Krasnodar. Russian air defence forces regularly monitor, target, and track hundreds of NATO aircraft operating close to the border, and occasionally scramble fighter jets to escort foreign military aircraft away from Russian airspace.

Moscow has repeatedly condemned US and NATO drone flights and bomber drills near its borders, saying such behaviour sparks tensions. The alliance has so far ignored these objections.

Stunning surveillance video shows man attempting to kidnap baby from mother at grocery store

The woman was able to stop him as he tried to walk away

Surveillance video captured a mother's nightmare scenario when a man attempted to kidnap a baby sitting in a grocery cart during a shopping trip in Flagstaff, Arizona.

The harrowing incident unfolded on Thursday morning at about 9:30 a.m. at a Bashas' grocery store.

The video showed the mom standing in the self-checkout aisle with the baby in the grocery cart and the man standing behind her completing his own purchase.

Without warning, he nonchalantly grabs the cart and starts walking out as if it belonged to him. Other shoppers can be seen standing around in the aisle.

Police say that the mother quickly noticed that the man was trying to run off with her cart and she was able to stop him and get her baby back.

Local news reporters tweeted screenshots from the surveillance video in order to help police find a suspect.

Police said they had identified a suspect and apprehended him four hours later.

The Criminal Investigations Detectives said that the investigation is ongoing, according to KOLD-TV.

According to FBI statistics, about 350 people under the age of 18 are kidnapped every year in the United States. Hundreds of thousands of juveniles are reported missing to the FBI every year, but of those, about 95% are classified as runaways. Only about 0.1%, or one in a thousand, are reported as abductions by a stranger.

"It doesn't happen very often, but they're certainly the cases that capture our attention because they strike at our worst fears," said Robert Lowery, the vice president at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, to Reuters.

Researchers Warn Common Insecticides Spread to Kill Unintended Insects and Pollinators

In light of emerging evidence showing how a commonly used class of insecticides can spread through the environment to pollinators, predators and other insects they are not intended to kill, researchers are warning about the potential for widespread environmental contamination.

In an opinion in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers from North Carolina State University and Pennsylvania State University argued for curbing the use of neonicotinoid insecticides by discontinuing the practice of applying them preventively on crop seeds, since the practice is in wide use in the United States and has been found in one study to benefit a small fraction of crop fields. They argue that reducing this and other common preventive practices could reduce cascading effects on the environment from insecticides whose risks have not been fully characterized.

“Since the research has focused on transmission of the insecticide from a plant to a particular pest to a predator of the pest, it’s ignored the hundreds of other herbivores that are also on that plant, and also transmission of that material to their predators. That’s where the food web concerns come in that we’re interested in,” said Steven Frank, co-author of the opinion and a professor in NC State’s Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology.

Since their introduction in the early 1990s, neonicotinoids have become the most widely used insecticides in the world, researchers said. In 2014, these products represented 25 percent of the global pesticide market, other scientists have reported. The authors also said they are among the most toxic insecticides to insects ever developed.

These insecticides are used in crops, lawns and landscapes, livestock production and even in pet flea and tick products. They are also used in lawns, commercial landscapes and to protect trees. For example, neonicotinoids were used to treat 200,000 hemlock trees in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

“They are applied to hundreds of thousands of trees each year for protection from exotic pests, which can be lethal to trees, but also from cosmetic pests, which generally are not lethal,” Frank said.

Recently, a study uncovered a new way that neonicotinoids can spread through the food chain.

White Jewish Lady Admits She’s Been Pretending to be Black Her Entire Career as a University Professor in Black History

A white Jewish lady from a Kansas City suburb has been pretending to be black her entire career as a Black History professor at George Washington University.

Jessica Krug had gone by the name Jessica La Bombalera to lecture on Black history as a radical leftist.

Watch this crazy leftist trash police and “white New Yorkers”:

La Bombelera had been teaching for years as a black woman.

The Daily Mail reported:

A professor of African American history at George Washington University, who publicly identified as black, has now admitted she is a white woman from Kansas City and has been lying about her race for years.

Jessica Krug, 38, revealed on Thursday in a bombshell Medium post that she has lied about being black her entire career and admitted to deceiving her friends and colleagues.

She said in the blog post – titled ‘The Truth, and the Anti-Black Violence of My Lies’ -that she is white, Jewish and was raised in Kansas City. ‘For the better part of my adult life, every move I’ve made, every relationship I’ve formed, has been rooted in the napalm toxic soil of lies,’ she wrote.

‘To an escalating degree over my adult life, I have eschewed my lived experience as a white Jewish child in suburban Kansas City under various assumed identities within a Blackness that I had no right to claim: first North African Blackness, then US rooted Blackness, then Caribbean rooted Bronx Blackness.’

In a video posted online in June of this year under her activist pseudonym, Jessica La Bombalera, Krug denounces ‘all these white New Yorkers who waited four hours with us to be able to speak and then did not yield their time for Black and Brown indigenous New Yorkers’.
