I don't know if you anons have noticed, but what he's talking about isn't necessarily untrue. As a matter of fact, it's a spot-on analysis of a real problem in poorer countries. What everyone takes issue with, however, is the methodology in helping poorer countries correct the problem.
Many young girls are raped/abused in these countries, and treated like broodmares, by the time they hit their 20s. In the places where that's not the case, it's a matter culture to propose that the avg family have 7+ kids per couple. Gates' and others recommendation to "fix" this is to sterilize/kill off the "excess numbers" of these populations; an unethical approach. I think most anons would rather see the consolidated wealth of this world be freed from people like Gates, and give these poorer countries better leadership and opportunities to improve. Then, the "population issue" will start to mend itself as people gain access to better education and other civil liberties.
