>This chemical building block of life is methyl isocyanate, a complex organic molecule containing carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen atoms in the chemical configuration CH3NCO
BULLSNOT! NOT notable.
methyl isocyanate is NOT a complex molecule, not remotely, by no stretch of the imagination.
it's about as complex as alcohol or vinegar. it's molecular weight is 57, slightly more than 3 water molecules.
by way of comparison, vitamin B12, which is considered a simple, small, organic compound has a molecular weight of 1355,
and a simple protein like insulin has a molecular weight of 5808. molecules like RNA and DNA are in the millions.
nor is it what a layman would call "organic" in that is does NOT come from living organisms.
furthermore, interstellar organic molecules are NOT news. first discovered roughly a half-century ago.
