Technically, the first HUMAN sin was Adam's because he failed TO GUARD(shamar) THE GARDEN as was his charge. His failure to guard is what let the Serpent in.
Part of Eve's punishment was the result of broken trust (because Adam did not do his job to protect her) would be the lifelong desire to usurp the man's position and control him. Adam was given authority as head of the family unit, but the dynamic between man and woman would be eternally one of the struggle over control.
