Planets "wage war" with each other through electrical discharges between each other when they get too close. Planets and comets were fear-provoking in distant past and taken to be feuding Gods.

The inverse square-of-the-distance law for E&M holds in a vacumn but space is not a vacumn; it is low density plasma which conducts electricity very well.

You are assuming as most do that the planets always were in the orbits they are in now. Many different lines of evidence indicates this is not the case.
