I don't have anything against statues, butโ€ฆ

how much does it cost to maintain/protect a statue in a public park or building?

Do taxpayers really need to work for that?

Remember, they also have statues of people we don't agree with.

Are statues something you like to pay for?

>Our history is worth preserving for future generations. I would rather pay for "statue maintenance" than welfare, housing "refugees" and all the other nonsense our tax $ is spent on.

They have statues too you knowโ€ฆ and I don't want to pay for theirs.

So what is the common ground?

Taxpayers have to pay for shit neither side wants.

Why even bother with wasting that time/money if it just creates resentment on both sides?

Why hasn't the government been cut down to essential workers only?

They get paid by tax dollars, and with so many citizens unemployed, where is the government workers paychecks coming from?

They can shut us down, but we can't shut them down?
