Australian private equity firm Crescent Capital Partners has ramped up plans to sell its pathology group, Australian Clinical Labs.

Crescent has hired Bank of America's investment banking team to pitch the business to potential buyers, with an auction slated to kick off in coming months.

It is expected to attract interest from the top two players, Sonic Healthcare and Healius, which have about 75 per cent of the market between them, as well as other Australian health sector players, offshore groups and private equity firms.
