Multiple collisions and poor visibility force the closure of U.S. Highway 395 near Ritzville. (KEPR-TV News

 

Among the areas affected by the closures:

 

Westbound I-90 is closed from the Grant County line to Ritzville until further notice due to poor visibility and multiple collisions and pileups. Long traffic backups are forming in the area. Long delays are expected.

U.S. Highway 395 is closed in both directions from State Route 26 to Ritzville due to blowing dust and poor visibility. There are multiple collisions blocking now both directions. Crews are having a hard time closing the road due to the collisions in the area. A 30-mile backup has already formed and motorists are warned to avoid the area.

U.S. Highway 2 is closed in both directions from milepost 163, approximately 13 miles east of Waterville at the junction with SR 172, to milepost 187.5 at the junction with SR 17 due to heavy smoke and fire in the area. There is no detour available and motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route. There is currently no estimated time for reopening.

SR-172 is closed due to heavy smoke from the Cold Spring Canyon/Pearl Hill Fire.

SR-17 is closed due to heavy smoke and flames from the Cold Spring Canyon/Pearl Hill Fire.

 

Wind gusts are expected to reach 40 mph or more Monday in the Ritzville area.
