Nope. The difference is superficial. Both provide routes to totalitarianism - the goal. They represent the Hegelian dialectic … thesis, antithesis, synthesis (problem, reaction, solution). In other words, ‘playing both sides’ of the fake left vs right dichotomy.
Arguing that they are significantly different is like trying to argue that there is a significant difference between rival gangs such as ‘The Bloods’ and ‘The Crips’ or better yet between ‘Punch’ and ‘Judy’ puppets.
Only the most naive observers believe that Punch and Judy are legitimate foes. To everyone else, the ‘Puppet Master’ behind the curtain is obviously manipulating both.
