We imagine the mainstream American press would be the first to point out that there's 'no evidence' that Beijing has been lying about its COVID-19 numbers, just like there's 'no evidence' SARS-CoV-2 leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

And now that the WHO's team has come and gone, having neglected to look too closely at the lab, the world may never learn the truth.

As President Xi holds a ceremony in Beijing to honor the Chinese who lost their lives, as well as those who fought and eventually 'defeated' the virus, the CCP is couching the event as a declaration of victory in the "People's War" against the virus.

Report: Left Mobilizes for ‘Mass Public Unrest,’ ‘Political Apocalypse’ Expected If Biden Loses

A coalition of leftist groups is “secretly” discussing how to mobilize and prepare for what it envisions as a “political apocalypse” full of violence and chaos if Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden fails to win a landslide victory on November 3, the Daily Beast reported Monday.

“Occupy shit, hold space, and shut things down, not just on Election Day but for weeks,” an unnamed source said in describing the coalition’s effort, dubbed the “Democracy Defense Nerve Center.”

The leftist group, convened by the relatively secret Fight Back Table (FBT), reportedly discussed their plans in secret during a Zoom virtual meeting.

Referring to the meeting, the Daily Beast reported:

Over the course of two hours, participants broached the question of what the progressive political ecosystem can functionally do in a series of election scenarios. They began charting out what it would take to stand up a multi-state communications arm to fight disinformation, a training program for nonviolent civil disobedience, and the underpinnings of what one official described as “mass public unrest.”

An unnamed aide to the Biden campaign told the Daily Beast it is “aware of the concerns expressed by many of these [leftist] groups” that are “actively planning for all contingencies and scenarios.”

Before officials get a chance to tally the votes, the FBT alliance is pushing the Democrat assumption that the election will be illegitimate absent a huge Biden victory.

The leftist coalition is explicitly making preparations to deal with a situation where the “November election ends without a clear outcome or with a Joe Biden win that Donald Trump refuses to recognize,” the Daily Beast noted.

“Inside the coalition, there is [a] dispute over whether Biden should even concede if he wins the popular vote but loses the Electoral College,” the news outlet acknowledged.

In that event, the coalition may take a page from the election “war games” report by the vehemently anti-Trump Transition Integrity Project (TIP), which urges Biden to push Western states, namely California and Oregon, “to secede from the Union” unless their potential demands for reforms — abolishing the Electoral college, dividing California into five states, and statehood for Puerto Rico and D.C. — are met, the Daily Beast indicated.

Secession precipitated the U.S. civil war.

“It’s the hardest scenario,” an unnamed source participating in the FBT discussions said, referring to the possibility of an Electoral College-popular vote split.

“I think both sides are going to fight this till the very end,” the source added.

The coalition is making its post-election plans around the 22-page TIP report, titled “Preventing a Disrupted Presidential Election and Transition.”

Any other scenario, except a Biden landslide, will spark “catastrophe,” including “violence in the streets and a constitutional impasse,” Rosa Brooks, a Georgetown University law professor and co-founder of TIP, wrote in a September 3 editorial for the Washington Post summarizing the report.

Democrats are baselessly promoting the notion that President Donald Trump will refuse to leave office if he loses, calling on their supporters to prepare to mobilize in case that happens.

Announcing the new restrictions, Mr Johnson said: 'We need to act now to stop the virus spreading. So we are simplifying and strengthening the rules on social contact – making them easier to understand and for the police to enforce.

'It is absolutely critical that people now abide by these rules and remember the basics – washing your hands, covering your face, keeping space from others, and getting a test if you have symptoms.'

Social Isolation Is Damaging an Entire Generation of Kids

I read an advice article at Slate recently where a mom of a nearly five-year-old daughter wrote in to express concern that her child hasn’t seen any friends in five months, since COVID-19 lockdowns began. She said:

Because of COVID, my husband and I have decided to skip [pre-K] altogether and teach her everything she needs to know before kindergarten ourselves. This doesn’t worry me academically, but I am concerned about her development and the loss of the social interaction she was going to experience.

The advice columnist responded that the mom shouldn’t worry about her child’s social isolation, saying:

She is part of a whole generation of quarantined 5-year-olds. It’ll take her a while to catch up once she reenters society, sure—but it’s going to take everyone a while.

This resignation to ongoing government lockdowns, endless social distancing, mandatory mask orders, and travel restrictions—even as the virus wanes in the US—is damaging to our social and economic health, and may be particularly problematic for children who are separated from their peers.

While some evidence suggests that young people are faring well outside of forced schooling, with less school-induced stress and anxiety, the same research indicates that children and teens are missing their friends dearly. Social isolation seems to be taking a toll. With most large, urban school districts planning remote-learning only this fall, the isolation is likely to continue for many children—unless parents step in to alleviate this loneliness.

An article in The Wall Street Journal exposed the impact of pandemic-related social isolation on children and adolescents: “‘Of all age groups, this virus is probably more socially devastating to teens than any other group. They are bored and they are lonely,’ says Joseph P. Allen, a professor of psychology at the University of Virginia.”

Another recent Journal article reinforced these unintended consequences of the lockdowns and social distancing on adolescents, and particularly girls: “Adolescent girls already were experiencing record-high levels of loneliness, anxiety and depression before the pandemic, according to Mary Pipher, a clinical psychologist and author of Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls… ‘All of the things that a year ago were increasing girls’ depression have been exacerbated by the pandemic,’ [said] Dr. Pipher.”
