Should I need a license to grow trees on my own property? No.

People should be able to grow what they want on their own property. If the state has an issue with him avoiding taxation on his crop, that's a separate issue that can be solved without a swat team. You can levy his property and/or business and seek civil enforcement. They are criminalizing nature. It's government overreach.

>something that I am about to partake in

Good for you, I personally can't stand the shit but I think it's ridiculous to condemn you for enjoying a natural remedy. I'm not a hypocrite, either and love caffeine way more than a normal person should. My 10-15 cup a day habit, while legal in the eyes of the law, is surely way more harmful than you smoking a joint a day.
