Sun finally rose over the burning ruin that is the west coast. It is raining ash in the foothills of the coast range. The air quality is essentially deadly. I am running around with the respirator I have for doing fiberglass insulation and spraying weeds and I am damn glad to have it. We talked a few times about trying to get out of the valley but most major roads are blocked and we are worried about getting trapped.
Its not fun right now. Visibility is about like a foggy day. You could drive about 40mph safely but any more and it would get dangerous. It seems to have cleared up a bit as the sky is yellow instead of RED and it is possible to see the sun whereas yesterday there was nothing at all.
