PM: In ‘Near Future’ Britain, Staff Will Have to Take Coronavirus Tests Daily to be Allowed to Work, Socialise

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson laid out the future for the nation the government is working towards, where daily coronavirus testing becomes a fact of life for millions and failing a test means being banned from social spaces and the workplace.

Tacked on to the end of his announcement on Wednesday on the introduction of new, harsher restrictions on personal freedoms as the number of new infections — if not deaths — starts to rise, the prime minister said the way tests are used would change in the “near future”.

At the moment, Boris Johnson said, testing is primarily used to actively identify those who are infected with coronavirus, but in the future that would change as tests became quicker to resolve. Instead, testing would be used to merely confirm that individuals were not infected.

In effect, this would mean that employees turning up at their employer in the morning would need to test negative for coronavirus on the spot before being allowed to do a day’s work. Similarly, sports stadiums and social venues would test patrons and reject their entry if they tested for the virus.

The prime minister said during a televised press conference:

…in future, in the near future… testing would allow people to lead more normal lives, without the need for social distancing:

Theatres and sports venues could test all audience members on the day and let in those with a negative result, all those who are not infectious. Workplaces could be opened up to all those who test negative that morning and allow them to behave in a way that was normal before COVID.

Mr Johnson said a pilot of such a scheme would commence in the northern English town Salford — now the home of a significant proportion of the BBC — from next month.

You Could Be Arrested for Breaking New Coronavirus Rules, Says Boris

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that you could be arrested if you break the new social distancing rules which prohibit gatherings of more than six people in public or private.

Mr Johnson made the announcement on Wednesday after earlier reports that suggested the maximum penalty would be fines of £3,200.

Addressing the public from Downing Street, the prime minister said that from Monday, gatherings will be limited to six people. If you do exceed that number, “you will be breaking the law”.

“This will apply in any setting, indoors or outdoors, at home or in the pub.

“The ban will be set out in law and it will be enforced by the police — anyone breaking the rules risks being dispersed, fined and possibly arrested,” Johnson said.

There are exemptions, including if your “support bubble” is larger than six, and also for worship and in gyms, restaurants, education settings, and workplaces.

The prime minister also announced the introduction of “COVID Secure Marshalls” who will “help ensure social distancing in town and city centres” — presumably to scold people if they deem them to be too close to one another.

Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage condemned the new laws earlier on Wednesday, asking: “This draconian law that comes in from Monday to allow gatherings of only 6 people will not be respected by protestors and those going to raves, so why should the rest of us comply?”

First Black Female Dallas Police Chief Resigns amid Attacks on Police

Dallas Chief of Police U. Reneé Hall submitted her resignation Tuesday as attacks on police officers and civil unrest continue. Her pending departure follows those of other chiefs across the country.

Chief Hall, Dallas’ first Black female chief, did not offer a reason for her resignation, according to the Associated Press. Dallas City Manager T.C. Broadnax accepted her resignation which is scheduled to take effect at the end of 2020.

The chief came under increasing criticism in recent weeks for her handling of the civil unrest faced by Dallas residents and business owners, CBSDFW reported. She appears to have lost support from the city’s mayor and other political leaders in addition to the Dallas Police Association.

“I think it was necessary,” Dallas Police Association President Mike Mata told the local CBS affiliate. “We’ve had double-digit increases in crime … And the debacles we’ve had time and time again, a lack of leadership, a lack of decision-making.”

“We needed a more dynamic, more experienced chief that could build morale better than she did and had crime-fighting abilities that were stronger than hers,” Mata added.

In her resignation letter, Chief Hall hinted at “future career opportunities” as she prepares to leave her post.

ALERT – The Wayback Machine is compromised

The Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine starts adding warning labels to its archives

reclaimthenet.org/internet-archive-wayback-machine-warnings/

MIT Technology Review complained that these archives were allowing coronavirus “misinformation” to evade moderators and fact-checkers and that these archived coronavirus articles had “better performance than most mainstream media news stories.”

Now, just a few weeks later, the Wayback Machine has started to add warning labels to some of its archives, while also forcing users to log in to view some of the archived content on the site.

The warning labels are bright yellow, appear at the top of some archived pages, and tell users when a post was removed for violating a site’s content policy.

I suspect that this is the first step towards destroying archives – save everything you can because the library is burning.

Farage Slams ‘Draconian’ Lockdown Laws Which He Claims Won’t Be Respected by BLM Protesters

Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has slammed the government’s new “draconian” lockdown laws, saying that it is hard to justify law-abiding citizens following the new rules when police fail to stop protests and illegal raves.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Wednesday a ban on public and private get-togethers of more than six people in England after a rise in the number of coronavirus cases. The government is also reportedly considering a nationwide curfew.

In response to the reports, Mr Farage said: “This draconian law that comes in from Monday to allow gatherings of only 6 people will not be respected by protestors and those going to raves, so why should the rest of us comply?”

Under the new rules, police with be endowed with the power to fine people £100, doubling for subsequence offences to a maximum of £3,200.

This draconian law that comes in from Monday to allow gatherings of only 6 people will not be respected by protestors and those going to raves, so why should the rest of us comply?

— Nigel Farage (@Nigel_Farage) September 9, 2020

Mr Farage may be right to point out the hypocrisy of threatening to police free, law-abiding Britons after months of authorities failing to crack down on far-left Antifa and Marxist Black Lives Matter protests, so-called ‘street parties’, and illegal raves.

The double standards were evident in the treatment of two protests in the last weekend of May, where on the Saturday, London’s Metropolitan Police Service arrested peaceful, anti-lockdown protesters at Speakers’ Corner — a site hallowed in British free speech advocacy. On the Sunday, Antifa and BLM protesters flooded the city, with little intervention from the police.

Despite several weekends of violent and destructive Black Lives Matter protests, the police admitted that the events were “unlawful” under coronavirus regulations, but effectively did nothing — because they feared massive civil unrest.

In the first week of June, the Met’s Commissioner Cressida Dick admitted: “Judgments, have been made, that people are out in such numbers, feeling so strongly, and are refusing to disperse when asked, that the officers have formed the view that if they were to try at that stage, with those sorts of numbers, to enforce en masse, we probably would have ended up with very serious disorder and a bad situation, a difficult situation, a challenging situation for everybody, turning into a violent situation.”

— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) May 17, 2020

Home Secretary Priti Patel warned at the end of June that the mass gatherings could lead to a spike in cases and “another wave” — the alleged impending ‘second wave’ that ordinary Britons are set to pay for from next week.

In late August, the government approved measures that would see those who organise mass illegal gatherings be handed a £10,000 fine. However, police were forced to drop an investigation into ‘community activist’ Ken Hinds on August 28th for his part in organising the BLM-associated Million People March, because as a political protest, according to The Guardian, the far-left demonstration was exempt.

The Million People March went ahead on the 30th, while on the same day Piers Corbyn, the brother of former Labour leader Jeremy, was fined £10,000 for organising an anti-lockdown demonstration.

Meanwhile, police across the country have struggled to stop illegal “quarantine raves”, where there have been reports of stabbings, killings, and rape. In London in particular, the Met has been attacked while trying to disperse what the mainstream media referred to as “street parties” in parts of the capital’s neighbourhoods.

State Orders Public Colleges and Universities to Create COVID-19 Quarantine Shelters

Ohio will now mandate public colleges and universities to create non-congregate sheltering space for quarantining coronavirus patients.

Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Interim Director Lance Himes issued the order Sunday “to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” alongside Governor Mike DeWine and Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted.

According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) relative to COVID-19, non-congregate shelters are “locations where each individual or household has living space that offers some level of privacy, such as hotels, motels, or dormitories.” FEMA entered into an agreement with the state, which in part allows people to apply for the non-congregate sheltering.

Under Himes’ order, public colleges and universities must negotiate a mutual aid agreement with their local health board, or the county or state Emergency Management Agencies (EMA). The order assures higher education that it will be immune from civil liability.

The ODH calls these makeshift mandatory shelters “temporary private medical facilities.” Higher education may not be the only place these shelters will appear. The state’s EMA now has the power to enter into contracts or mutual aid agreements with other public and private facilities.

It’s entirely possible under the order’s language that certain non-congregate buildings, such as hotels and apartments, may be contracted or mandated for shelter use as well.

The order limits those who qualify for these shelters. Such persons are “those unable to safely self-quarantine in their place of residence,” and those diagnosed with or showing symptoms. And, those who don’t require hospitalization but are “asymptomatic high-risk individuals needing social distancing as a precautionary measure.”

Homes, DeWine, and Husted relayed no information about artificial intelligence involvement in drafting this order, specific safety determinants and proceedings for these facilities, why they thought this order was necessary as cases continue to drop, or the conflict between Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines and this order’s necessity of quarantining asymptomatic individuals. No response came by press time on these related issues.

Private colleges and universities may opt to participate in the order as well. The order will take effect immediately, expiring 90 days from onset or under Himes’s direction.

A Major Crisis Deepened During The Covid Lockdowns: Opioids

Opioid deaths are surging across the United States after the coronavirus pandemic and heavy-handed lockdown measures put tens of millions of Americans out of work and separated patients from necessary medical and mental health care.

The opioid crisis was already worsening as annual deaths from the drugs have more than doubled in the past decade. After yearly deaths fell slightly in 2018, the number of deaths in 2019 is expected to set a record high of roughly 72,000, according to experts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).County health departments across the country are measuring a significantly increased number of opioid deaths over last year’s data and over deaths tallied in the first few months of the year before widespread stay-at-home orders were put in place, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have hit addicts and those struggling to stay sober particularly hard. Social distancing rules and fear of the virus has driven people to stay much more isolated from society and forced typical tools for people struggling with addiction, such as sessions with therapists

“When COVID hit, nobody was allowed to touch anybody, nobody was allowed to see anybody,” Ms. Hicks said. “The worst thing for someone chaotically using drugs is to be isolated.”Gary Tsai serves as interim director of substance abuse prevention and control for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. He said that opioid deaths in his county, the most populous in the United States, rose 48% in the first six weeks of the pandemic, according to WSJ.

“They’re indoors, they’re stressed, maybe they lost a job or a family member,” Tsai said of factors leading to increased drug abuse.

In Franklin County, Ohio, the number of deadly overdoses through August of this year nearly matched the total number of opioid deaths in all of 2019.In Washington, D.C., the pandemic and lockdowns are fueling a surge in drug overdoses. According to the district’s chief medical examiner, 47 people died from overdoses in April, the highest number to die in a single month since 2016. The pace of drug overdoses in Washington is set to hit a record high.

President Trump declared the opioid epidemic a national emergency in 2017.

“The opioid crisis is an emergency, and I’m saying officially right now it is an emergency,” he said at the time. “It’s a national emergency. We’re going to spend a lot of time, a lot of effort and a lot of money on the opioid crisis.”“It is a serious problem the likes of which we have never had,” he continued. “You know when I was growing up they had the LSD and they had certain generations of drugs. There’s never been anything like what’s happened to this country over the last four or five years. And I have to say this in all fairness, this is a worldwide problem, not just a United States problem. This is happening worldwide. But this is a national emergency, and we are drawing documents now to so attest.”

Republican statement won't appear in Oregon voter pamphlet because it arrived 29 seconds late

A statement from the Oregon Republican Party won't appear in the state voters' guide mailed out for November's election because it arrived 29 seconds late to the online reporting system, officials told the Associated Press.

What are the details?

The statement was headlined "Had enough? Vote Republican!" and attacked Democratic leadership in Oregon over issues ranging from "Unrestrained rioting" in Portland to coronavirus mismanagement resulting in "catastrophic small business losses," the AP said.

Oregon Public Broadcasting reported that Kevin Hoar, communications director for the state GOP, said his party did get the statement into an online filing system by 4:59 p.m. Aug. 25, the final day for filing, the outlet said.

Hoar also said state Republican chairman Bill Currier was locked out of the online filing system for several hours, which delayed the GOP's ability to file its statement, the AP said.

But Laura Fosmire, a spokeswoman for Secretary of State Bev Clarno, said deadlines apply equally to everyone, the outlet noted.

"Anyone wishing to submit information to the Voters' Pamphlet has several weeks to do so, and we recommend avoiding waiting until the last minute for this reason," she said in a statement, according to the AP.

But Currier told the outlet that not including the GOP's statement in the voting guide "reeks of partisan discrimination."

"If a bureaucrat in some decision-making role simply didn't like what our statement said, this doesn't give them the right to silence us," he added to the AP.

However, Fosmire told the outlet there were "no problems or glitches" with the online reporting system: "[W]e simply received the statement after the filing deadline."

Hoar added to the AP that a lawsuit was filed demanding the statement's inclusion before the voters' guide goes to print later this month.

"We can't quite explain the interpretation and decision here" by state elections officials, Hoar told the outlet.

The Democratic Party of Oregon and six other political parties are included in the voters' pamphlet for the Nov. 3 election, the AP said.

Oregon secretary of state is a Republican

As it turns out, Oregon Secretary of State Clarno is the only Republican in statewide office, the outlet said. Clarno, a former Oregon House speaker, was appointed by Democratic Gov. Kate Brown to serve the rest of the Dennis Richardson's term after he died in 2019, the AP said.

Footjob Porn Video ‘Liked’ by Chinese Ambassador to the UK’s Twitter Account

The Twitter account for the Chinese Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Liu Xiaoming, liked a pornographic video that showed a woman performing a sexual act on a man with her feet.

On Wednesday morning, the ambassador’s account liked a post from a Chinese account, whose username translates roughly to “show off wife daily”. The account’s biography states in Chinese: “Beautiful legs in stockings, share with bitches from time to time, welcome to communicate.”

The post that was liked by Mr Liu’s account was entitled: “lucky quality single guy, warm up first” and showed a graphic video of a woman giving a man a footjob.

The racy video was initially flagged by Hong Kong Watch fellow Luke de Pulford, who wrote: “Warning: do not read this if eating. The Chinese Ambassador the UK [Liu Xiaoming] has just liked a tweet of a woman masturbating a man with her feet.”

“Is this what Roosevelt called big stick diplomacy?” de Pulford questioned.

The account for the ambassador appears to have since ‘unliked’ the video.

Commenting on the scandal, the founder of Hong Kong Watch Benedict Rogers told Breitbart London: “Liu Xiaoming blocked me on Twitter a few weeks ago, and I am glad he did. If this is how he spends his time – when he’s not spreading mendacity or harassing critics – I would rather not see it.”

Ambassador Liu rose to international attention earlier this summer when he denied that the Chinese Communist Party is running concentration camps in Xinjiang after being shown footage that purported to show blindfolded and shaven Uyghur Muslims being loaded onto trains.

On Tuesday, a cross-party group of British MPs wrote a letter to Mr Liu to condemn the actions of the Chinese state, likening the footage to scenes witnessed in Nazi Germany.

The Chinese embassy in London was not available for comment when contacted by Breitbart London. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China has also been contacted for comment.

U.S. Street Gang Accesses Mexican Cartel Tunnels, Leaked FBI Report Shows

On September 2, 2020, an FBI report exclusively obtained by Breitbart Texas stated the U.S.-based California Mexican Mafia was having difficulty obtaining methamphetamine from cartels due to COVID-19 complications.

The report outlined that in early July, COVID-19 severely affected supply lines throughout the U.S. and Mexico which drastically drove up prices. Ports of entry at the U.S.-Mexico Border, specifically in California, were also shut down or the hours of operation became limited.

Illegal drug prices increased substantially due to the increased transportation risks brought about by lighter traffic on roadways. According to the report, many smugglers did not want chance being spotted.

As a result, the California Mexican Mafia began using underground tunnels. One began at a house in Mexico and ended at a warehouse in the United States.

U.S.-based gangs have been collaborating with cartels for over a decade. However, street gangs with access to tunnels is a paradigm shift.

It further validates how close Mexican cartels and U.S. street gangs have become. For any cartel to allow a U.S. gang to utilize a tunnel provides great insight into the depth of trust in the relationship. The sophistication required to construct tunnel infrastructure is extensive and access is not easily granted.

As far back as 2013, the Texas Department of Public Safety created a special designation for the Texas branch of the Mexican Mafia in the annual Gang Threat Assessment as Tier 1.

Buffalo Lawmakers Cancel U.S. President

The city lawmakers of Buffalo, New York, approved a motion to expunge former President Millard Fillmore’s name from city-owned property because of his role in the Compromise of 1850.

According to local ABC affiliate WKBW, the Buffalo Common Council is also seeking advice from citizens regarding who should replace the 13th president, who was one of the town’s leading figures and played a role in founding some of its key institutions, such as Buffalo General Hospital and The University at Buffalo.

Fillmore’s legacy has become problematic ostensibly because of the Compromise of 1850, the major legislation of his short presidency. The Compromise, which included the controversial Fugitive Slave Act, sought to defuse the tension between the North and South as U.S. territory expanded after the Mexican-American War.

Buffalo’s Democrat Mayor Byron Brown said in a statement last month:

I have requested that the Buffalo Arts Commission review all statues and monuments with an eye toward evaluating the legacy of the honorees and making recommendations to re-purpose any that are undesirable historical figures.

I have asked that this review be done in the context of the time the person lived in and weighing their entire record. I have also asked the Buffalo History Museum to provide technical assistance to the Arts Commission and advise the city of Buffalo on the historical significance of these individuals and how to place their lives in proper perspective.

Through this process, I also want to bring the stories of other worthy individuals who are black, Native American, minority and women to light, so that their stories will be told and they receive proper recognition.

One person who I would like to see recognized with a statue in Buffalo is Mary Burnett Talbert, 1866-1923. She was an orator, activist, suffragist, writer and reformer. As a Buffalo resident Mary B. Talbert was an international icon and one of best known African Americans and women of her time. She was a founder of the Niagara Movement, the precursor organization to the NAACP.

As The Daily Wire reported last month, the University at Buffalo (UB) also agreed to scrub from their buildings any mention of Fillmore, though he helped to found the institution.

Despite criticism for the Compromise of 1850, some historians credit it with postponing the Civil War. Professor James Campbell, a professor at UB, told The College Fix he thought the decision to remove Fillmore from the school was “terrible,” adding:

The nation was better off because of Fillmore’s service as president—and that includes the black Americans who were not traded as slaves in DC because of the Compromise, the black Americans who were not held as slaves in southern California because of California’s admission as a free state because of the Compromise, and the black Americans not held in slavery because the western boundaries of the slave state of Texas were greatly reduced because of the Compromise.

Most of all, the North was in a stronger position to win the Civil War and end slavery ten years later because of Fillmore’s support for the Compromise. None of this would have happened without Fillmore taking the stand he did. And how do we show our gratitude? It’s not right.

Anti-American propaganda: The New York Times has been supporting communism for a century

The New York Times wants people to view it as one of the nation’s must trustworthy newspapers, but every day they give us more reasons not to pay attention to a word they say.

Their support for the overthrow of our democracy by the Black Lives Matter movement may have been surprising to some, but it’s nothing new for the paper; they actually supported Josef Stalin in his time and communism in general a century ago.

In fact, the New York Times is the home of one of the most flagrant examples of “fake news” of all time, when the Times’ Moscow bureau chief and Pulitzer Prize winner Walter Duranty wrote a series of pieces praising the policies of the USSR under Josef Stalin and promoting his way as the right way forward.

Duranty wrote that things were going well under the communist regime, failing to mention the fact that millions of people were starving to death in Ukraine. He also attacked reports that painted Soviet policies negatively as being “malignant propaganda.”

He insisted everything was fine there and conveniently left out the fact that people were dying because of forced starvation in the Holodomor in the early 1930s.

The truth is that Stalin killed 13 percent of the Ukraine population in his quest to replace the country’s small farms with state-run collectives and punish those who believed in independence. When reporters like Gareth Jones dared to tell the truth – and was murdered for his efforts – Duranty repeatedly denied in the paper that people were starving there. Moreover, he praised Stalin’s first five-year plan for land collectivization, which caused the famine that killed 8 million Ukrainians.

Even though we now know that this was a major disinformation campaign, the New York Times still lists Duranty on its honor roll and he was never stripped of his Pulitzer Prize – even though he admitted to British Intelligence a few years later that there was indeed a famine in Ukraine.

The NYT didn’t admit to any fault in failing to report on the famine until 1990, when they conceded that their Russian Revolution reporting was “some of the worst reporting to appear in this newspaper.”

And yet, when the 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution rolled around a few years ago, what did the New York Times do to mark it? They ran a series called “Red Century” extolling the virtues of communism.

This ridiculous series featured articles like one by Kristen R. Ghodsee, who talked about how Western women had less sex and less satisfying sex than “women who had to line up for toilet paper.” Her criticism of Stalin was not related to the gulag; instead, it was about how he outlawed abortion and promoted the nuclear family.

A monument Trump will WANT to tear down: Gold statue showing the president in a golf buggy riding over the tombstones of soldiers and COVID victims while being pushed by Fox News hosts is unveiled in New York’s Battery Park

A 'living statue' of Donald Trump has been unveiled in New York City's Battery Park showing the gold-clad president riding a golf buggy over tombstones of coronavirus and dead soldiers while being followed by Fox News hosts.

The brash installation, dubbed 'The Final Push', was revealed Tuesday morning in Trump's city of birth, taking pride of place along the Hudson River near Pier A.

It was set up by a collective of artists called The Trump Statue Initiative who said they aim to showcase 'our 45th President's most notoriously self-serving, narcissistic and racist moments'.

The all-gold exhibit - a nod to the the Trump empire's garish design - features an actor posing as the president while perched astride a gold golf buggy and pointing a golf club in front of him like a saber.

It's no secret the president is a big fan of golf, with the Trump Organization running 17 courses worldwide and Trump regularly spotted enjoying a round while the nation is buckling under the weight of a pandemic, a civil rights movement and an economic crisis.

Since he took office on January 20 2017, Trump has reportedly played golf 291 times costing tens of millions of dollars to hard-hit American taxpayers, reported the Golf News Net.

But instead of riding his buggy along a golf course, the president in the installation is plowing the buggy over a row of coronavirus-themed headstones, reading 'In Tragic Memory Of: 'It is What It Is'.

Trump, whose handling of the pandemic has caused him to fall out of favor among many potential voters, famously uttered those words about the staggering number of Americans who have been killed by the virus.

Trump shrugged off the US's death toll, which has now topped more than 190,000, during an interview with Axios last week.

The First Members of Space Force Just Deployed to the Middle East

The U.S. Space Force has marked another milestone for the history books: the first official deployment of its troops – and it's not to the moon.

Twenty airmen assigned to the 16th Expeditionary Space Control Flight and the 609th Air Operations Center at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, transferred into the military's newest branch during enlistment or oath of office ceremonies earlier this month, according to a news release. The airmen are in organic space career fields such as space operations and space systems operations, officials said.

"Those participating in today's ceremony are not only joining our nation's newest service, they are joining this service while deployed in defense of our nation," said U.S. Air Force Col. Todd Benson, director of Space Forces for U.S. Air Forces Central Command, in the release.

"They are the first members of the United States Space Force to be deployed in support of combat operations," he said of the Sept. 1 ceremonies, which marked the start of transferring personnel into the sixth military branch.

The 16th Space Control Flight hails from Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, which hosts a robust space mission.

Airmen have routinely supported exercises and deployments for troops who rely on space assets on the battlefield, including satellite communications and other networking resources. But airmen who've deployed for the latest mission anticipate "watching technology and tactics evolve as the U.S. rises to thwart adversary efforts," according to the release.

For example, Senior Airman Aron Franks, of the 16th Expeditionary Space Control Flight, said he's looking forward to putting his skills to the test as a space systems operations specialist who "geo-locates, characterizes and reports sources of electromagnetic interference to U.S. satellite assets," the release states.

"It's rewarding when you get to see how your efforts are being processed or applied to the overall fight, to see our piece of the puzzle," he said.

Tech. Sgt. Cody Hircock, superintendent of the 16th, who has been in the space career field for more than a decade, said new technologies are giving troops the leading edge.

"Back when I joined my first unit in 2009, I actually got to watch them launch our third satellite," said Hircock, who submitted an application to join the Space Force last spring. "Now, they have 10, so their capabilities have expanded.

"It's been really impressive to see how much space and the need for space has expanded," he said.

The airmen are supporting operations in the Middle East, officials said.

The Space Force will hold future ceremonies for airmen transferring in from other fields, such as acquisition, intelligence, engineering and cyber.

For the time being, the transferees will still be referred to as airmen.

Last month, Chief Master Sgt. Roger Towberman, Space Force's top enlisted adviser, said the branch was all ready to move ahead with announcing a rank structure until Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, proposed a new legislative amendment requiring the service to use Navy ranks.

"So we've got to let that law, that legal system, play out, and until it plays out, there's really no point right moving forward," Towberman said in a Q&A segment during the Air Force Sergeants' virtual symposium.

In Extradition Hearing, Julian Assange’s Legal Team Focuses On US Torture And War Crimes Exposed By WikiLeaks

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s legal team spent the second morning of a major extradition hearing focusing a magistrate court judge’s attention on United States torture and war crimes that Assange helped to expose.

Defense attorney Mark Summers called Clive Stafford Smith, a human rights attorney who has represented prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, to the witness stand. He was asked about human rights cases he pursued, which were bolstered by revelations in documents WikiLeaks published.

For example, Stafford Smith told Judge Vanessa Baraitser that U.S. State Department cables helped those impacted by U.S. drone killings in Pakistan. It contributed to “court findings that US drone strikes are criminal offenses and that criminal proceedings should be initiated against senior U.S. officials involved in such strikes.” [Here’s the full witness statement from Stafford Smith: PDF.]

A high court in Pakistan ruled “drone strikes carried out by the CIA and U.S. authorities were a ‘blatant violation of basic human rights’ including ‘a blatant breach of the absolute right to life’ and ‘a war crime,'” Stafford Smith declared in a statement to the court. Due to the decision, drone strikes that caused many “innocent deaths” stopped “very rapidly.” None were reported in 2019.

The defense had Stafford Smith testify in order to persuade the court that Assange “disclosed U.S. involvement in criminal activity.” Specifically, these were “public interest disclosures” of war crimes and torture. Some of the publications are currently the subject of a criminal investigation into the CIA that is before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

In other words, the prosecution against Assange is retaliation for bringing increased scrutiny to U.S. actions throughout the world.

But James Lewis, the lawyer representing the Crown Prosecution Authority on behalf of the U.S. government, was irritated by the defense’s focus on documents that exposed torture and war crimes.

Lewis insisted the U.S. government only charged Assange with documents that revealed the names of informants, and none of the materials Stafford Smith was asked about mattered in the extradition case.

At one point, Stafford Smith contended Lewis was “wrong about the way in which cases are prosecuted” in the United States. An FBI expert or some other individual with a similar background would likely testify during a U.S. trial about terrorism or terrorist groups and how WikiLeaks publications helped them.

The 20-Year Journey From 9/11 To COVID-19 and the Freedoms Lost Along the Way

Here is what it means to live under the Constitution, post-9/11 and in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic.

You can map the nearly 20-year journey from the 9/11 attacks to the COVID-19 pandemic by the freedoms we’ve lost along the way.

The road we have been traveling has been littered with the wreckage of our once-vaunted liberties, especially those enshrined in the Fourth Amendment.

The assaults on our freedoms that began with the post-9/11 passage of the USA Patriot Act laid the groundwork for the eradication of every vital constitutional safeguard against government overreach, corruption and abuse.

The COVID-19 pandemic with its lockdowns, mask mandates, surveillance, snitch lines for Americans to report their fellow citizens for engaging in risky behavior, and veiled threats of forced vaccinations has merely provided the architects of the American police state with an opportunity to flex their muscles.

These have become mile markers on the road to tyranny.

Free speech, the right to protest, the right to challenge government wrongdoing, due process, a presumption of innocence, the right to self-defense, accountability and transparency in government, privacy, press, sovereignty, assembly, bodily integrity, representative government: all of these and more have become casualties in the government’s ongoing war on the American people. In the process, the American people have been treated like enemy combatants, to be spied on, tracked, scanned, frisked, searched, subjected to all manner of intrusions, intimidated, invaded, raided, manhandled, censored, silenced, shot at, locked up, denied due process, and killed.

What the past 20 years have proven is that the U.S. government poses a greater threat to our individual and collective freedoms and national security than any terrorist, foreign threat or pandemic.

In allowing ourselves to be distracted by terror drills, foreign wars, color-coded warnings, partisan politics, pandemic scares, and other carefully constructed exercises in propaganda, sleight of hand, and obfuscation, we failed to recognize that the U.S. government—the government that was supposed to be a “government of the people, by the people, for the people”—has become the enemy of the people.

Indeed, the U.S. government has grown so corrupt, greedy, power-hungry and tyrannical over the course of the past 240-plus years that our constitutional republic has since given way to an idiocracy, and representative government has given way to a kleptocracy (a government ruled by thieves) and a kakistocracy (a government run by unprincipled career politicians, corporations and thieves that panders to the worst vices in our nature and has little regard for the rights of American citizens).

Although the Bill of Rights—the first ten amendments to the Constitution—was adopted as a means of protecting the people against government tyranny, in America today, the government does whatever it wants, freedom be damned.

“We the people” have been terrorized, traumatized, and tricked into a semi-permanent state of compliance by a government that cares nothing for our lives or our liberties.

Northrop Grumman Gets $13.3 Billion Air Force Contract to Engineer New ICBMs

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman a $13.3 billion contract for the engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) phase of the service's next-generation intercontinental ballistic missiles to replace the aging Minuteman III ICBMs.

The service on Tuesday said the contract for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent, known as GBSD, aims to replace the 1970s-era ICBMs by the late 2020s. Northrop Grumman was the sole bidder for the program after Boeing Co. dropped out of the running for the EMD contract last year.

"Modernizing the nuclear strategic triad is a top priority of our military," said Defense Secretary Mark Esper in a service news release. "It's key to our nation's defense. It provides that strategic nuclear deterrent that we depend on day after day – that we've depended on decade after decade."

Gen. Tim Ray, head of Air Force Global Strike Command, concurred.

"I am fully confident in the evolutionary warfighting effectiveness GBSD will ensure," he said in the release. "The increased accuracy, extended range and improved reliability will provide the United States a broader array of options to address unforeseen contingencies, giving us the edge necessary to compete and win against any adversary."

The service is responsible for two of the three legs of the nuclear triad – land-launched nuclear missiles and aircraft with nuclear bombs and missiles. The third leg is submarine-launched nuclear missiles.

In 2017, the Air Force awarded two contracts to Northrop and Boeing for preliminary work on the GBSD program to replace its Minuteman III system. Known as the technology maturation and risk reduction (TMRR) phase, the two contracts were not to exceed $359 million each, the service said; Boeing was awarded $349 million and Northrop received $328 million for the 36-month deal.

The EMD phase request for proposal was released in July 2019. While the service was always going to down-select and choose a single company to manufacture the next-generation ICBM, Boeing said the service's acquisition approach favored its competitor and exited the competition that same month.

"After numerous attempts to resolve concerns within the procurement process, Boeing has informed the Air Force that it will not bid Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) under the current acquisition approach," the company said at the time. That October, the Air Force informed Boeing it would cut off the company's funding to finish out the TMRR phase.

Maj. Gen. Mike Lutton, 20th Air Force commander, said in a recent interview that upgrading to a new ICBM system is an affordable alternative for the U.S., as opposed to executing a service life extension program on the current arsenal.

Fauci Foils Latest 'Bombshell' - "Trump Didn't Distort Anything"

Update (1445ET): Well that didn't take long. Woodward's apparent 'gotcha' moment which is now spreading in an interestingly coordinated fashion across the MSM has been out-bombshell'd by none other than Dr.Fauci (he who speaks science truth and is above reproach).

Fauci just went on Fox News and said that President Trump "did not distort anything and acted immediately when he was presented the data."

Birx and Redfield also testified the same thing under oath.

Fauci also disputed alleged quotes from him in Bob Woodward's story that President Trump is "unfocused in meetings" and that "his sole purpose is to get re-elected."

"I don't recall that at all."

Mattis told Coats Trump is 'dangerous,' 'unfit': Woodward book

Former Defense Secretary James Mattis told then-Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats that President Trump was “dangerous” and “unfit,” according to excerpts from Bob Woodward’s upcoming book “Rage.”

Mattis, who left the White House at the end of 2018 over differences on defense strategy with the president, warned Coats that “there may come a time when we have to take collective action” against Trump, according to excerpts of the Woodward book reported upon by The Washington Post,

The Post did not say if Woodward’s book clarified what kind of “collective action” Mattis was referencing.

In a separate conversation, Mattis said, “The president has no moral compass,” to which Coats responded, “True. To him, a lie is not a lie. It’s just what he thinks. He doesn’t know the difference between the truth and a lie.”

Mattis, one of the few Cabinet secretaries who had support from both Republicans and Democrats during his time in the Trump administration, announced in December 2018 he was resigning after disagreements with the president over policies in Syria and Europe.

He has generally kept his thoughts about Trump to himself, but criticized the president as dividing the country over the summer after Trump said he wanted to use the military against protesters following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

The former Pentagon chief, initially seen as someone who might serve as a check on Trump, was believed to have disagreed with Trump’s decision to draw down troops in Syria and his relationship with NATO allies, which have been characterized by demands they step up contributions to their shared defense.

Mattis wrote in his resignation letter that his “core belief” is that U.S. strength is “inextricably linked with the strength of our unique and comprehensive system of alliances and partnerships.”

“My views on treating allies with respect and also being clear-eyed about both malign actors and strategic competitors are strongly held and informed by over four decades of immersion in these issues,” Mattis wrote. “We must do everything possible to advance an international order that is most conducive to our security, prosperity and values, and we are strengthened in this effort by the solidarity of our alliances.”

The Butcher of Fallujah

General James N. Mattis, former commander of the First Marine Division in the US invasion and occupation of Iraq, takes his place with history’s other morally corrupt military figures. Mattis, like Marshal MacMahon, Cecil Rhodes, and Heydrich before him, has the distinction of gloating over the killing of poorly armed and defenseless resisters while serving masters of privilege and power.Mattis earned his place in this hall of infamy with his actions in Afghanistan and Iraq, leading the outrageous slaughter in Fallujah of April 2004.While the civilized world protested this butchery of irregular combatants in sandals and on motorbikes, Mattis’s masters rewarded him with a promotion to commanding officer of the Marine Corps Combat Development Command.
