SHERIFF: 3 PEOPLE DEAD IN BEAR FIRE

Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea has confirmed that three people have died in the Bear Fire. The sheriff confirmed it in a Cal Fire press conference, click here to watch a recap of it. Sheriff Honea said two individuals were found at the same location another was found in a different location. The sheriff’s office is in the process of recovering those remains and investigating those scenes. They have yet to be able to identify those individuals or notify their next-of-kin, and as a result, they will not be sharing further information at this time.

 

The Bear Fire is a part of the North Complex, which in total, is estimated at 254,000 acres and 38% contained, according to Inciweb.

 

Action News Now has confirmed with Cal Fire that Fire Station 61, Feather Falls school, and dozens of homes have burned. There are reports of injuries as well.
