Q said too look at the difference between the NUMBER of fires from last 20 years vs last 3 years. (California)

 

the number of fires is nothing but average for that comparison

 

BUT

 

check the acerage burned

even though number of fires is consistent with average

the acerage burned is up by a factor of 2-3x for the years '18 '19 '20
