WHY KURU?
WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF DREAMS TO CHANGE LIVES.
Based in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah - we are independently owned and web-driven.
Our founder wanted to start a shoe company in 5th grade. What started as a child’s dream became reality when he launched KURU during the Great Recession of 2008. But we got lucky. His dream was so powerful it led to the invention of KURUSOLE. Since then, thousands have experienced the superior support, style and pain-free comfort of KURU.
Our relentless focus on innovation reflects our commitment to endless comfort for a pain-free life. Which is why we design and develop footwear that outperforms at the highest levels. With nature on our side, some science and a bit of magic; we are obsessed with raising the bar. Something good enough to chase your dreams is more than a shoe—it's a KURU.
GO. OPEN LIFE
What do the satanists carry after eating human flesh during their stupid rituals?
Yep, exactly; wonder if they use leather, and where they get it from. Do they have red?

WHAT DOES KURU MEAN?
Kuru is a city in Finland (now part of the town of Ylöjärvi) with incredibly lush nature and forests, popular for outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and fishing. In fact, this area of Finland is so unadulterated and pure that you can actually drink water directly from the streams.
We strive for the same purity in our design and mobility for better full-body health from the ground up. In fact, the little K symbol on the shoes is also created to look similar to the Finnish flag in tribute to the place we got our name.
(Some of you may also know that kuru is a prion disease. However, we draw our inspiration from the Finnish city and Scandinavian Design. We did NOT name our company after the disorder.)
MMmmmmmmyyyyyeahhh….nnooot named after the cannibal disease, no-no…..
