Email I Re-Stumbled Upon from the day after Trump's Election, Novermber, 9th, 2016

From a Charter School my middle school child attended in Nashville, TN.

If this is what Schools said last time, this time will likely be 10 times worse

Dear Valor Community Members,

The entire election process and, in particular, last night's election outcome, has resulted in heightened emotions from many members of our community. In our duty to hold our community's well-being sacred, we responded to these feelings this morning by holding Circle in Prides to allow a safe space for scholars to ask questions, express their emotions, and to hear the different perspectives that make up our wonderfully diverse community. In listening and taking part in these conversations, we at Valor are more convicted than ever before that our intentionally diverse community - and the opportunities we get to share and learn alongside our peers here - are needed for our nation's future.

We honor the democratic ideals and process by which our leaders are selected. And yet, we hold fast to the belief that it is also our responsibility to hold ourselves and our leaders to our highest ideals and values. President-elect Trump, in his campaign, has made statements that are divisive and that have the potential to make members of our diverse community feel unsafe and devalued. Therefore, while we know that not all of his supporters share those beliefs, we must also stand firm in our beliefs that we will not tolerate hatred, bigotry, or exclusivity in any of their forms.

As we all continue to process our emotions regarding the events of this election - and as important current events like this inevitably arise in the future - we will continue to build space for reflection and conversation into our school days as a way of making our community stronger and more unified. As we do so, we commit to acting in the interest of keeping our scholars, their families, and our staff feeling safe regardless of nationality, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual identity, or political beliefs. We encourage all of our community members to seek a diversity of perspective, exercise understanding over judgment, kindness over blame, and hope over despair. We urge you to continue these conversations at home and to reach out to us immediately if your scholar is feeling unsafe or unwelcome at school.

Sincerely,

The Valor Leadership Team

MASSIVE explosion shakes outskirts of Jordanian capital (VIDEO)

10 Sep, 2020 23:18 / Updated 3 hours ago

A series of explosions have lit up the night sky outside the city of Zarqa, northeast of Amman, the capital of Jordan, at a military ammunition depot in Ghabawi.

The explosion took place at a warehouse of “unusable mortar bombs” in the Ghabawi area east of Zarqa and was caused by an electrical short, Petra reported citing Jordan’s minister of media affairs Amjad Adaileh.

Local residents reported shattered windows and seeing flames licking up into the night sky.

Some social media users rushed to compare the Zarqa explosion to the blast at the port of Beirut, Lebanon last month, when a warehouse filled with ammonium nitrate devastated the port and caused at least 190 deaths and 6,500 injuries.

However, there have been no known casualties from the Friday incident, the government said.

“According to the Army General Command, so far no casualties have been recorded as a result of the explosion," Adaileh said. He added that the munitions depot was in an area otherwise uninhabited.

Bin Laden backs Trump for another term! The Al-Qaeda leader’s niece endorses his re-election, but it will just boost Biden

10 Sep, 2020 11:22

When the naive niece of the world’s most famous terrorist aired her pro-Trump views this week, it was probably support the US president neither wanted nor needed. Doesn't she realise it will only damage his re-election prospects?

As political endorsements go, this one takes some believing. A member of the Bin Laden family giving their wholehearted backing to the staunchest of Republicans.

It came from Osama’s niece Noor, who’s backed Donald Trump to prevent another 9/11, which of course her uncle masterminded from the caves of Afghanistan exactly 19 years ago this week. Her reason for breaking cover from her home in Switzerland is unclear, but it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine she has an eye on capitalising on the celebrity of her name.

Maybe turning herself into the political equivalent of Kim Kardashian.

For the record, Noor’s branch of the family spell their surname Bin Ladin (her father and Osama were half-brothers).

When 9/11 happened, Noor was 14 years old, but she has opted to retro-engineer her uncle’s strategy. After his death, it was claimed the Al-Qaeda leader wanted to assassinate Barack Obama. Subsequent reports stated he was of the opinion that “Biden is totally unprepared for that post, which will lead the US into a crisis.”

Making her entrance into the debate, Noor said: “Osama Bin Laden endorsed Biden to see America fail. I endorse President Trump to see America succeed.”

There’s certainly some who will say, who cares what Noor thinks? She’s a wannabe salivating at the chance of any attention from the world's media, even posing in a Trump onesie – although a lot of the mainstream outlets have ignored her comments.

That aside, Noor hasn’t got her uncle’s grasp of optics and how to manipulate situations.

Her endorsement continued: “I have been a supporter of President Trump since he announced he was running in the early days in 2015. I have watched from afar and I admire this man’s resolve.

“He must be reelected … It’s vital for the future of not only America, but Western civilization as a whole.”

Trump hasn’t yet reacted to Noor’s ringing approval. That’s because her name is toxic with his base, whatever the spelling.

The second-amendment warriors don’t want their poster boy being cheered by on the niece of the man who orchestrated the biggest terrorist attack their country has ever seen…

Biden Spox Melts Down Over Teleprompter, COVID Questions

Thu, 09/10/2020 - 21:08

Joe Biden's National Press Secretary, TJ Ducklo, just gave a trainwreck of an interview on Fox News - where he shifted between anti-Trump talking points and backpedaling defensively over simple questions, such as Biden's reliance on teleprompters and what the former VP would have done better than Trump in terms of the national response to COVID-19.

Perhaps the most jaw-dropping moment was when host Bret Baier asked Ducklo a simple question over Joe Biden's use of teleprompters that goes back to at least July:

"Has Joe Biden ever used a teleprompter during local interviews, or to answer Q&A with supporters?" asked Baier, to which Ducklo launched into a defensive tirade - accusing Baier of parroting Trump campaign talking points, and "trying to distract the American people."

Ducklo has been answering questions over Biden's teleprompter use since at least July - when he said the notion that the former VP is using them to answer questions is "laughable, ludicrous, and a lie."

Yet, here he is earlier in the week doing just that: …

…Earlier in the interview with Ducklo, Baier asked what Biden would have done differently in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic - since a new campaign talking point is that President Trump mishandled the virus, the Biden spox went into defensive overdrive - robotically barking anti-Trump talking points without actually answering the question.
