I'm in Oregon. Rumors going around antifa arsonists have been caught attempting to set fires around communities, boxing them in. Attempting to set forest fires makes sense. No consequences for rioting and setting fires in Portland and other urban centers, what better way to step up their game? They've been threatening to burn it all down. It never occurred to us they would try this, because it is too horrific for most of us to imagine anyone doing on purpose.

Just a few days ago everyone was enjoying the tail-end of summer: camping, hiking, fishing, raft trips down the rivers. Now the view out the window reminds you of China, the air smells like a campfire, there is a light sprinkling of ash, floating, drifting, swirling through the air, dusting everything, including the outdoor cannabis crop. The campground a friend's family was planning on staying at tomorrow is now incinerated; which pales compared to his uncle's house burning down. I had three level 3 evacuation alerts on my phone in one day for a huge fire East of home, far enough away personally; but I'm well within the anxiety zone.

Domestic terrorism. This is certainly scary, but I'm thinking they've gone too far this time. Oregon is logger country. The forests are our livelihood, our playground, our pride and joy. Small towns have been incinerated now, people dead and missing. Most of Oregon does not identify with Portland. It's different when it happens out in Oregon proper. I'm wondering if this may be the tipping point for public outrage.
