I work at the same company as this kid. I met him before he was arrested and worked with him. Seemed like a nice, respectable kind of guy. He was kind of quiet, but any conversations we had were funny. The subject of pornography or little kids never came up, and he definitely had that "farm boy" quality that was a little dopey but not alarming in anyway.

About ten years ago at the same company, we had a new guy come in and train with me for about a week. Now, that guy had all kinds of alarm signals going off; but I had to work with the guy so I just kept my mouth shut.

First, he had health problems; and if he ever cut himself; he would have to leave and go home because he was a "bleeder". Right there I thought to myself that this was the wrong type of work for this little fat fuck!

Then, after a few days, he was telling me stories about how he "reads books" to little kids at the Elk's Club; and how he likes to sit at the park and people watch in the evening.

I never talked to him about any of that shit, I just wanted to train him in to doing the job and keep everything work-related.

Then he just came out and asked me if I liked porn.

I should have never answered him, and if that same convo happened today; I would have told him to STFU.

But I did answer him hesitantly by saying that "yeah, of course I like porn…I'm a guy."

THEN he answered back by saying,"Oh, well maybe we should trade some sometime?"

I never answered him back.

It felt so wrong and I was really beginning to feel uncomfortable with the conversation now.

I just shut the whole conversation down at that point and just focused on work.

Then, the next day…he was absent from work, and I was so relieved that that fat fucker wasn't there.

He really creeped me out. He was going to Seminary School to become a Child Counselor, and the whole time I thought "is this guy a pedo?"

Then later on during the day, another worker came up and told me that that guy got arrested for distribution of child pornography.

I wasn't surprised.

But the other kid surprised me I guess, because I always used the other guy as a gauge for recognizing a pedo.
