Remember the "warp" screen savers of CRT days? Applying a small amount of warp actually moves a LOT of pixels and could be applied to existing memes.

Perhaps some JAVA or PERL wonk could whip something platform neutral up so that each time an existing meme is posted, it can be warped by the poster using a localized random seed?

Trying to be helpful … but just inserting 20% black space is going to screw up the visual utility of the memes.
