Executive summary: Anti-Terrorism expert, died in 9/11
Around 1995 O'Neill began investigating terrorism, spending considerable effort investigating Al Qaeda and trying to catch Osama bin Laden. He headed the investigation of the USS Cole bombing. He retired from the FBI in July 2001 in some frustration. According to a Frontline documentary "The Man Who Knew", he received interference from Thomas J. Pickard and also from the US State Department, who did not want him investigating Saudi Arabia. After the FBI O'Neill took a job as head of security at the World Trade Center. About one month into his new position he was killed in the collapse of the towers.

Based on what is disclosed in this information there seems to have been an active agenda to want this man silence forever, to the extent that records responsive to his investigations were destroyed. What did he uncover, about Saudi Arabia that the Bush's and Clinton's wanted to make sure stayed forever silent. Both the FBI and The State Department went through great lengths to destroy his personal reputation both in print and on the screen. What was the role of Thomas J. Picard, where did he work? Also information of where he was on 9ll is conflicting, some accounts have him inside the building on the 30th floor, others say he got out then went back in to help others and yet they found his body? How many bodies were actually found on 9ll? So many questions, not enough answers.
