Now Lindsey is telling Republicans to “stay tuned.” This is something Lindsey has been saying for over two years now as he has shirked his responsibility as Judiciary chairman.

The scorching desert sun streams through narrow slats in the tiny window. A mouse scurries across the cracked concrete floor, the scuttling of its tiny feet drowned out by the sound of distant voices speaking in Arabic. Their chatter is in a western Libyan dialect distinctive from the eastern dialect favored in Benghazi. Somewhere off in the distance, beyond the shimmering desert horizon, is Tripoli, the jewel of Africa now reduced to perpetual war.
But here, in this cell in a dank old warehouse in Bani Walid, there are no smugglers, no rapists, no thieves or murderers. There are simply Africans captured by traffickers as they made their way from Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, Eritrea, or other disparate parts of the continent seeking a life free of war and poverty, the rotten fruit of Anglo-American and European colonialism. The cattle brands on their faces tell a story more tragic than anything produced by Hollywood.
These are slaves: human beings bought and sold for their labor. Some are bound for construction sites while others for the fields. All face the certainty of forced servitude, a waking nightmare that has become their daily reality.
This is Libya, the real Libya. The Libya that has been constructed from the ashes of the US-NATO war that deposed Muammar Gaddafi and the government of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya. The Libya now fractured into warring factions, each backed by a variety of international actors whose interest in the country is anything but humanitarian.
But this Libya was built not by Donald Trump and his gang of degenerate fascist ghouls. No, it was the great humanitarian Barack Obama, along with Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Susan Rice, Samantha Power and their harmonious peace circle of liberal interventionists who wrought this devastation. With bright-eyed speeches about freedom and self-determination, the First Black President, along with his NATO comrades in France and Britain, unleashed the dogs of war on an African nation seen by much of the world as a paragon of economic and social development.
But this is no mere journalistic exercise to document just one of the innumerable crimes carried out in the name of the American people. No, this is us, the antiwar left in the United States, peering through the cracks in the imperial artifice – crumbling as it is from internal rot and political decay – to shine a light through the gloom named Trump and directly into the heart of darkness.
There are truths that must be made plain lest they be buried like so many bodies in the desert sand.

Venezuela's Maduro Announces Capture of Alleged US Spy Planning Explosion
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced on Friday that a US spy who had been targeting the country's oil refineries for an attack has been captured.
According to Maduro, the spy was captured in the state of Falcón on the northwestern coast near the Colombian border.
The spy, reportedly a former US Marine who worked for the CIA in Iraq, was captured with heavy weapons and a "large amount" of US dollars, according to Monitoreamos. He was reportedly targeting oil facilities in Amuay and Cardón for some kind of an attack.
Venezuela was forced to shut down the two refineries after strangling US sanctions deprived them of the necessary parts. However, the 310,000-barrels-per-day Cardón refinery was successfully restarted in April after Iran provided vital material to restart its catalytic cracking unit. The aid was followed shortly thereafter by five fuel tankers full of gasoline to help offset the acute shortages created by the refineries' shutdown - something that infuriated Washington leaders, who are trying to force Maduro from power as well as deny Iran trading partners.
Oil is vital to the South American country, as it forms most of the country's exports and thus the foundation of its economy. The US has placed economic sanctions against Venezuela, claiming Maduro's 2018 re-election was illegitimate and promising punishment for any nation or entity that buys Venezuelan petroleum.
The alleged spy's arrest also comes just months after US-based mercenary outfit Silvercorp made an ill-fated attempt to sail to Venezuela from Colombia and kidnap Maduro for a hefty bounty. However, eight of the mercenaries were killed and the rest promptly arrested by several Venezuelan fishermen who are part of the local militia, and Washington disavowed knowledge and responsibility for the incursion.
Last month, two of the Silvercorp mercenaries, Luke Denman and Airan Berry, both of whom are also US veterans, were sentenced to 20 years in prison after admitting to the crimes of conspiracy, association, illicit trafficking of weapons of war and terrorism.

Sputnik contacted the German Ministry of Defense and the Charité Clinic on the matter, asking how things were going with the Bundeswehr special lab's medical report, which gave the German government reason to speak of Navalny's "unequivocal" poisoning, as well as whether Berlin’s demands against Russia are backed with documentary evidence.
Is Toxicology Report Available Only Via The OPCW?
According to a spokesperson for the German Ministry of Defense, Navalny is the victim of poisoning by a nerve agent, a violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention. "The federal government has informed the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague about this", the spokesperson said.
According to the Chemical Weapons Convention, the international organisation, of which Russia is a member, has the mandate to monitor and ban the use, production, storage and development of chemical weapons, he further noted.
When asked whether the federal government plans to share the so-far ambiguous toxicological report with Moscow, the spokesman did not answer, saying instead that it would be better to contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
So far, the OPCW has only officially announced that it is continuing to monitor the situation and is ready to "cooperate with and support all parties to the agreement that request its support".
