anyone who's seen the episode 'shut up and dance' , black mirror season 3, episode 3, might grasp what I'm talking about.
for those who don't. I'll do a tl:dr version: basically, a group of people get trolled with black mail, and people have shown to go through extremes to make sure no one finds out what they (the people who are being blackmailed) have done. the bonus is that one of these people, is a young pedophile
now, wasn't it mentioned that d5/geotus/potus 'has everything'?
what if these people are doing everything they can to make sure no one finds out what kind of evil, nastiness they've done?
what if these people are being ordered and controlled and being made to act in a certain way to not only wake people up, but because they (the ones being controlled), really don't want people to find out what they do to our kids?
