"in oregon you have to have an address to vote. can't just own land. has to have an address. means you have to have a septic, or sewer service.
house burned down = no address for a while, wait for a change of address to go through, and no you can't use a post office box unless it's backed up by a physical address.
begins the game of musical chairs, who is gonna have an address? the farmers and ranchers now burned out of their homes? or the rent-a-mobs housed in the city housing projects?"
Retried ElectionClerkAnon here.
Bad guys would have to know in advance which houses actually burned, in order to take those specific addresses out of the sytem IN TIME FOR NOV 3 ELECTION.
That's a tight fire (which is still burning, mind you) time frame AND getting inspectors back out after the fire to visualize loss of house/address, and having enough inspectors to do the job in the short window alotted.
I can't see them completing this in the specified time frame, AND merging with the Supervisor of Elections office all before Nov 3.
Those drivers licenses with OREGON addresses didn't become "void" when the fires hit. The names of registered voters are still in the system.
Renters have valid addresses and while they don't own land/property they still get to vote.
Drivers LicenseAddress verification is processed thru Div of Motor vehicles (well, in FL it is, where I live). You have to take in 17 kinds (jk, it's only 7ish, literally) of verification to prove you live at that address. DL is most widely accepted form of ID for voting. ALL ID, regardless of type used, must be current (as in NOT EXPIRED). Expired is not accepted.
