and why does it matter,

unless there was a hidden camera and mic on the plane itself?

They are indeed stupid, and it is an inpropriety, but is it a crime on it's face?

The reporter may have had a camera rolling, but from afar, what does it prove, other than what is already open source? Should I get some popcorn and just enjoy the show?

A reporter could have had a cameraman with them and a Zoom Lens, but so could MI watching. The reporter was called by MI to make the story public, to out the asshoes and watch them eff up even more.
