Pregnant people: Have a conversation with your healthcare provider about rooming together with your baby in the hospital if you have COVID-19 at the time of delivery. You get to decide what is best for you and your baby. Keep in mind that early and close contact with your baby has many benefits and the risk of passing COVID-19 to your baby is low.

If you decide to room together with your baby and you have COVID-19:

  • Wear a mask when caring for your baby

  • Wash your hands before caring for your baby

  • Stay at least 6 feet from your baby, as much as possible, when not holding your baby

  • Consider using physical barriers in the room, such as putting your baby in an incubator
