Alexander Downer is the former foreign minister of Australia and high commissioner to Loindon. During "a night of heavy drinking” he supposedly heard the Trump aide talk about how Russia had dirt on HIllary Clinton.
This started the Trump-Russia investigation.
"Australia is part of the “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance, with the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand. When WikiLeaks began publishing hacked emails from Democratic officials two months later, Australian officials passed the information to their US counterparts, the Times report stated. The FBI then began its investigation."
Downer previously arranged one of the largest foreign donations to Bill and Hillary Clinton’s charity, $25 million.
