In regard to the possible use of Directed Energy Weapons
to start fires on the West Coast of America:

if they trigger multiple volcanoes . . .

If you apply great heat to the Magma beneath a volcano, wouldn't you cause a fire on the earth's surface, as a side-effect ?
( Or great heat to known tectonic plate joint slip points ? )
