What happens when people in positions of power are sympathizers to the cause or part of that same ‘organization’ themselves?

What happens when prosecutors, board of county commissioner members, volunteer firefighters, etc. are sympathetic to the cause?

CAN. WE. TRUST. THE. COPS/FIREFIGHTERS? How the fuck do we identify the good guys from the bad? I'm not comfortable calling the cops for ANYTHING. How on-our-own are we in all this?

Oregon… The state is "blue" but only in the cities for the most part. My tiny down is in a blue county but chock-full of American flags and trump signs and such. Its good stuff. Mostly rednecks, farmers and old people. There are boomer libtards from Cali here and there as well in the rural areas.
