YouTube Censors White House Health Advisor

In late August, the Hoover Institution filmed an in-depth interview with Dr. Scott Atlas who serves as a top health advisor to the White House, more or less replacing Anthony Fauci in that role.

Atlas is an advocate for opening up the economy and allowing natural immunities to control the virus. In this, he has many colleagues in the public-health profession who agree with him, including many epidemiologists, virologists, immunologists, and medical doctors, all names frequently covered at AIER. This interview conducted by Hoover allows him to explain his views in depth.

Incredibly, YouTube has taken down the video interview of Scott Atlas for the usual vague reasons about community standards.

Alex Berenson is right:

“As censorship goes, this is both terrifying and idiotic. Like him or hate him, Scott Atlas is ADVISING THE PRESIDENT ON COVID – no one gains when YouTube denies everyone the chance to hear what he thinks. People who oppose him should want to know even more.”

Two aspects of this are fortunate. LBRY has retained a copy and that copy is embedded below. In addition, Hoover retains a complete transcript of the interview.

If this can happen to a world-class and highly credentialed expert like Atlas, it can happen to anyone.

We need decentralized solutions like LBRY now, in the interest of openness, freedom, and truth.

Rochester Mayor Fires Police Chief, Suspends Two Top Officials

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren fired the police chief and suspended both her top lawyer and communications director on Monday amid outrage over the March suffocation death of Daniel Prude.

The announcement came during a press conference where Warren said that City Corporation Counsel Tim Curtin and Communications Director Justin Roj would be suspended without pay for 30 days for “failure to act, inform and follow policy procedure.”

Originally, police Chief Le’Ron Singletary was set to remain on the force until the end of the month after he announced his retirement last week.

“This initial look has shown what so many have suspected, that we have a pervasive problem in the Rochester Police Department,” Warren said. “One that views everything through the eyes of the badge and not the citizens we serve.”

“It shows that Mr. Prude’s death was not taken as seriously as it should have been by those who reviewed the case throughout city government at every level, and that it was seemingly viewed by all concerned as an unfortunate set of circumstances, which we all know was not the case.”

According to WHAM-13, Warren is “directing the Office of Public Integrity to investigate whether any city employees, including herself, violated policies or ethical standards in Prude’s death, and she is calling on the U.S. Attorney General’s Office to investigate any possible civil rights violations.”

Additionally, the mayor is also calling for public transparency with criminal investigations involving officers in an effort to “adopt and embrace a robust process driven by an engaged public to bring systemic reform to the Rochester Police Department, City Hall and beyond to remove the pervasive culture of insularity and acceptance from law enforcement.”

In March, officers found Prude running down the street naked and placed him in a hood to prevent him from spitting. He was later held down for an estimated two minutes, and he stopped breathing. He was transported to a hospital, where he was taken off life support a week later.

Citi Restarts Job Cuts, Ending Pandemic "No Layoff" Pledge

And the hits just keep on coming for Citigroup.

While not nearly as much of a shitshow as Wells Fargo, where even Warren Buffett appears to have given up hope for a recovery, today Citi's stock slumped more than 5% after reports that federal regulators were preparing to issue a costly reprimand Citigroup for failing to improve its risk-management systems stemming from a highly publicized scandal in which the bank inexplicably made an "accidental" $900 million payment to creditors of cosmetics company Revlon (after secretly scheming with Revlon to screw over those very same creditors). Hilariously, it was also reported that CEO Mike Corbat's retirement and replacement with Jane Fraser, the first woman CEO on Wall Street, had little to do with the bank's noble ESG intentions and lofty aspirations for sexual equality, but merely to have her clean up Corbat's mess.

This in turn followed an earlier drop in the stock price after Citi's CFO Mark Mason unveiled during The Barclays Global Financial Services conference that the bank's full year revenue would be "flat to slightly down" and that it would move people to "low cost spots."

Yet the trifecta hit late on Monday when Bloomberg reported that six months after Citi, and all other banks vowed they would not pursue banker layoffs during the pandemic, the pandemic appears to have ended because the bank will resume job cuts starting this week, joining rivals such as the abovementioned shitshow that is Wells Fargo, which last month said it was preparing to cut tens of thousands of jobs, in ending an earlier pledge to pause staff reductions during the coronavirus pandemic.

"The decision to eliminate even a single colleague role is very difficult, especially during these challenging times,” Citigroup said in a statement. "We will do our best to support each person, including offering the ability to apply for open roles in other parts of the firm and providing severance packages."

The bank said that it would fire less than 1% of the total workforce, yet what is curious is that at the same time the bank said it has hired more than 26,000 people this year, and over one-third of those jobs were in the U.S (Citi currently employs around 204,000 worker).

After promising to pause layoffs in late March, Banks resumed job cuts in recent weeks, and many firms are now pushing to cut costs as the pandemic has dragged on, threatening lenders with higher credit costs and crimping revenue growth, which in the case of Citi is expected to decline this year as noted above.

And while thousands of bankers now have a dismal holiday season to look forward to, the biggest winner is "noble" Mike Corbat, whose departure comes at just the right time, dumping his farewell mess squarely on his replacement, the first woman CEO on Wall Street who may soon find that her historic ascent to the top of Citi's rank was more than she bargained for.

Ed Markey: ‘Disarm’ All Police Officers of ‘Weapons of War,’ Ban Tear Gas

Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) on Monday called to “disarm” all police officers of “weapons of war” and demanded a nationwide ban on various nonlethal forms of protection, including tear gas.

Markey, who recently won his primary race in Massachusetts as he seeks reelection to the U.S. Senate, wrote, “Portland police routinely attack peaceful protestors with brute force. We must disarm these officers, and every other police department in America, of weapons of war,” adding he supports a nationwide ban on tear gas and other nonlethal tools police use to protect themselves and community members.

Portland police routinely attack peaceful protestors with brute force. We must disarm these officers, and every other police department in America, of weapons of war, and enact a nationwide ban on tear gas, rubber and plastic bullets, and bean bag rounds. https://t.co/PDZcjhmSLB

— Ed Markey (@SenMarkey) September 14, 2020

Markey’s statement follows more than three months of protests and unrest in Portland, as well as in several other U.S. cities, sparked by the death of George Floyd while in police custody in Minneapolis.

The protests have often devolved into violent and destructive riots driven by anti-police sentiment, with dozens of arrests made in Portland in just the past two weeks for felony rioting, felony assault, reckless endangerment, and more.

The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) released a statement September 10 confirming that individuals have said “they intend to kill or injure officers” and have “scrawled [threats to commit acts of violence] on police facilities and other property.”

In one instance, a man was lit on fire as a result of people throwing Molotov cocktails at police. Police used CS gas, a common form of tear gas, as a crowd dispersion tool in response to the Molotov cocktails.

In several instances, according to police, arsonists have attempted to burn down the PPB’s North Precinct facility while people were inside. Most recently, on September 7, a crowd started a fire outside of the precinct building, chanting, “Burn it down,” prompting police to make 15 arrests.

Markey’s call to disarm police of “weapons of war” and tear gas did not include any solutions for how police should manage the ongoing rioting or protect themselves as they are being attacked.

It did, however, include his proposed legislation called the No Tear Gas or Projectiles Act. Markey states in his proposal, cosponsored by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), that “our streets are not meant to be battlefields, and law enforcement shouldn’t be using weapons of war against protestors and other Americans.”

The progressive senator’s demands echo a recent directive from Mayor Ted Wheeler (D) that Portland police cease using CS gas. “During the last hundred days Portland, Multnomah County, and state police have all relied on CS gas where there is a threat to life safety,” Wheeler said in a video statement. “We need something different. We need it now.”

Oregon State Police described the mayor’s order as “reckless and short sighted.”

Portland police responded that it was dangerous, stating, “Banning the lawful use of CS will make it very difficult to address this kind of violence without resorting to much higher levels of physical force, with a correspondingly elevated risk of serious injury to members of the public and officers.”

Feds: Nearly 400K American Victims of Identity Theft Never Notified by IRS

Nearly 400,000 Americans are unknowingly the victims of identity theft, in cases where perpetrators steal their identity to gain employment, because the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has yet to notify them, a federal audit reveals.

A report released by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration details 133,864 cases where American children had their identities stolen by perpetrators trying to gain employment, but the parents of those children were never notified by the IRS.

Another nearly 61,000 Americans were not notified last year by the IRS due to “programming errors” after having their identities stolen. As Breitbart News has reported, illegal aliens often steal IDs to fraudulently obtain employment.

Auditors write that because the IRS only notifies repeat identity theft victims once every three years, victims fail to realize that a perpetrator is continuing to use their identity.

The report states:

The IRS did not issue its Employment-Related Identity Theft notice to the parents or legal guardians of 133,864 dependents that the IRS identified as employment identity theft victims in Processing Year 2019. In addition, systemic programming errors prevented the IRS from issuing the notice to 60,872 victims that the IRS identified. [Emphasis added]

Finally, the IRS’s policy to notify repeat victims of employment identity theft every three years may result in many victims not being notified that identity thieves continued to use the victims’ Taxpayer Identification Numbers nearly every year to work. The 75,451 victims that the IRS first notified in Processing Year 2017 were not sent a subsequent notice despite identity thieves using the victims’ Taxpayer Identification Numbers again to gain employment in Processing Years 2018, 2019, or both years. [Emphasis added]

Auditors said they discovered more than 883,000 cases of employment identity theft after reviewing more than a million tax returns from last year. Of those cases, nearly 393,000 victims were not notified by the IRS, including the more than 133,000 children whose parents remain unaware of their child’s stolen identity.

“The IRS’s unwillingness to take any action in an effort to notify parents or legal guardians is problematic because of the impact and damage that theft of a child’s identity can have on future credit and employment history,” the report states, adding:

The IRS is in a unique position to identify this type of child identity theft and provide individuals with the information they need to minimize the impact. However, without notification, parents and legal guardians cannot take the same proactive steps the IRS suggests when an adult’s TIN is identified as being used to fraudulently obtain employment.

Facebook censors conservatives and refuses to ban left-wing extremist groups from using their platform to destabilize the country

acebook has vowed to crack down on any attempts by organizations to use their website to interfere with the presidential election. While this has resulted in them taking down the Facebook pages of several anarchist extremist news organizations such as It’s Going Down and CrimethInc., it has so far refused to take action against many other controversial radical leftist pages, like Adbusters and Rose City Antifa.

Rose City Antifa, a Portland-based Antifa organization that was formed in 2007, claims that their goal is to defend Portland against fascism. However, they have a solid reputation for political violence even against regular conservatives. Several Rose City Antifa members have even been accused of beating up Andy Ngo, potentially giving the independent conservative journalist brain damage.

Adbusters a group based out of Canada, is responsible for helping to kick start the Occupy Wall Street riots in 2011. They are currently busy trying to meddle in the elections by organizing a “siege” of the White House, set to begin on Sep. 17 and end after election day.

Despite this, in an interview Zuckerberg said that the platform was actively trying to stamp out violent organizations from their website. “We’re trying to make sure that we do our part to make sure that none of this is organized on Facebook,” he said.

And yet, when presented with an extensive report on the violence perpetrated by Rose City Antifa and other left-wing extremist organizations like it, Facebook has still refused to take action.

Antifa violence organized in Facebook has resulted in the death of a conservative

The Antifa violence that is being organized through social media networks like Facebook has already resulted in people dying.

In the most notable example, Michael Forest Reinoehl shot and killed 39-year-old Aaron “Jay” Danielson, a conservative Trump Supporter.

Reinoehl has described himself as “100 percent Antifa” on a post on Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, at the beginning of the engineered rioting – several months before the fateful incident. Facebook could have done something to shut down Reinoehl’s social media accounts to make it harder for him to organize with his Antifa comrades, but they didn’t.

At the time he was shot, Danielson was wearing a hat for the group Patriot Prayer, a conservative activist organization that Facebook has banned from their website in their effort to remove “Violent Social Militias” from their platform.

As Zuckerberg continues to lie about censorship on Facebook, domestic terrorist organizations like the Black Lives Matter movement continue organizing through social media. Listen to this episode of the Health Ranger Report, a podcast by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, and learn more about how the movement is not promoting racial equality, but is an organization rooted in anti-White racism, racial superiority and Black supremacy.

Loneliness Doubled Among Older Adults in First Months of COVID-19 Lockdown

Lack of social interaction or companionship is more common among those with health issues, but neighbors, healthy habits and technology may help

Staying close to home and avoiding crowded places may help older adults reduce their risk of COVID-19. But a new national poll suggests it comes with a cost, especially for those with health challenges.

In June of this year, 56% of people over the age of 50 said they sometimes or often felt isolated from others – more than double the 27% who felt that way in a similar poll in 2018. Nearly half of those polled in June of this year also said they felt more isolated than they had just before the pandemic arrived in the United States, and a third said they felt they had less companionship than before.

Social contacts suffered too, with 46% of older adults reporting in June that they infrequently interacted with friends, neighbors or family outside their household – doing so once a week or less — compared with 28% who said this in 2018.

The new findings come from the National Poll on Healthy Aging, which is done for the University of Michigan’s Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation with support from AARP and Michigan Medicine, U-M’s academic medical center. Both the 2020 and 2018 polls on loneliness involved a national sample of more than 2,000 adults aged 50 to 80.

The poll points to some bright spots, too. For instance, the 46% of older adults who said they interacted with people in their neighborhood at least once a week were less likely to say they’d experienced forms of loneliness. Technology also helped many people over 50 connect with others, including the 59% who reported using social media at least once a week, and the 31% who used video chat at least once a week.

And many older adults said they engaged in healthy behaviors despite the pandemic — including 75% who said they were getting outdoors or interacting with nature, and 62% who said they got exercise several times a week. But those experiencing loneliness were less likely to engage in these healthy behaviors.

“As the pandemic continues, it will be critical to pay attention to how well we as a society support the social and emotional needs of older adults,” says John Piette, Ph.D., a professor at the U-M School of Public Health who worked with the poll team. “The intersection of loneliness and health still needs much study, but even as we gather new evidence, all of us can take time to reach out to older neighbors, friends and relatives in safe ways as they try to avoid the coronavirus.”

“The change we see in these measures in less than two years is truly remarkable,” says Preeti Malani, M.D., the U-M Medical School professor who directs the poll and has training in geriatrics and infectious diseases. “The use of technology to bridge the gap, and the importance of keeping up healthy routines like exercise, sleep, a balanced diet and getting outside, will no doubt continue to be important in the months ahead.”
