What people tend to forget is while we were doing the six weeks of the "UN thing" to get permission to attack Iraq for sanctions violations (at the Democrats and the Enemedia insistance) the Russians were loading up Saddam Hussein's chemical and gas weapons and took them to be stored in Syria. The Syrians didn't want to store them long term so they sent them to be stored in Sudan without telling the government of Sudan what was in those shipping containers. When the Sudanese found out what was in them they have the Syrians one week to get them out of the country or they were going to turn the lot of them over to the Americans and tell them the whole story. Needless to say the Syrians took them back.
