The atrocities were horrific. Those that were marched to the sea: many died of starvation, pregnant women were bayoneted, those with newborns - the babies were thrown into a boiling pot - told to eat their own if they were hungry!!. Many of those who made it to the sea for deportation were sent out on boats and they were purposely sunk.
How do I know this - my grandmother was a survivor and a witness to it.
