The membership of Norbert Müller, Vice-Chairman of the Left in Brandenburg and a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament, was the occasion for a parliamentary question from the CDU opposition, which Interior Minister Ralf Holzschuher answered in November 2013. The Juso chairwoman, Franziska Drohsel , who was elected in November 2007, was also a member of the Red Aid. Due to the discussion about membership, she resigned from the association in December 2007. [47] Also in 2013 the membership of Sina Doughan , spokeswoman for the Green Youth , became known. When asked about the political entanglements of the Red Aid , Doughan said that she saw it "very, very critical" [11] if the Red Aid actually approved politically motivated violence. She herself "rejects violence in any form out of deep conviction". [11] [2]

 

Oliver Höfinghoff , a member of the Berlin House of Representatives for the Pirate Party , came under criticism from the SPD, CDU and regional media in June 2013, among other things because of his membership in the Red Aid. [48]

 

Red Aid also received state funding indirectly.At the beginning of 2015, the “Kulturzentrum Spartacus” received from the City of Potsdam the honorary award and dedicated it to the local Red Aid for its work against the “spying on and criminalization of visitors to cultural projects, football fans and bands” by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. The spokeswoman for the RH Potsdam announced that she would now proceed even more intensively against the alleged spying and "against the secret service observation of the alternative culture in Potsdam". The Cottbusser Youth Welfare Office in 2017 the financial support of the “Association for a multi-cultural Europe”, which had been running for 15 years, and a housing project “Cell 79” operated by it, after it became known that the Association had made its rooms available several times for Red Aid events. The Red Army Fraction (RAF) was a left-wing extremist terrorist organization in the Federal Republic of Germany . She was responsible for 33 or 34 murders [1] of executives from politics, business and administration, their drivers, police officers , customs officers and American soldiers as well as for the Schleyer kidnapping , several hostage-taking, bank robberies and bomb attacks with over 200 injured. 24 members and sympathizers of the RAF were killed by outside influences, suicide or hunger strike .

The RAF, in its self-image a communist , anti-imperialist urban guerrilla based on the South American model similar to the Tupamaros in Uruguay , was founded in 1970 by Andreas Baader , Gudrun Ensslin , Horst Mahler , Ulrike Meinhof and other people. The number of members of all three generations of the RAF was between 60 and 80 people between the 1970s and 1990s. The RAF cooperated with Palestinian, later with French, Italian and Belgian terrorist groups.

The black-collared jay has spent most of his life documenting the new generation of grassroot activism in pacific south america. He likes to learn new things, including computer related stuff, which is why he is able to help with riseup's tech work. The jay is known for being a rabbit friendly bird, skeptical about mobile design trends and for disliking to write names with capital letters. He avoids technologies that use jewelry names.

Waxwing is a revolutionary hacker and critic of late capitalism. Although deeply skeptical of technology, Waxwing has spent much of his life in a quixotic attempt to use technology for liberation. When not pecking away at the keyboard, Waxwing eats juniper berries, goes on long urban [-hikes-] flights, and plays with his adorable hatchlings.

Originally from the most dangerous neighborhoods of Santiago de Chile, Colibrí Jacobina has left her hometown in order to live a life without an address. A light blue strip crosses her well-maintained feathers and while she is dedicated to reading and writing in absolute tranquility, she doesn’t hesitate to use her abilities and radical spirit to fight rich people, men, meat eaters, fascists, monogamy, and the police. You can find her in Riseup forming alliances with other organizations and arguing eloquently that autonomous infrastructure is the only thing that is going to save us from this neoliberal and hyper-surveilled internet that we inhabit.

The Eurasian Blue Tit is easily recognizable by its blue plumage, but various authorities dispute their scientific classification. While studying, it traveled through Europe to counter summits, social forums and the like. After university it was looking for a communal roosting in the web. So it started to work on we.riseup.net. A few years ago it stopped migrating and now nests in a small town commune.

Gadfly Petrel (aka Professor Petrel) works to bring about communications policies and systems that are based on human needs not corporate profits. She thinks that there is no technical solution but that technology can be useful if used in moderation. Though a seabird, she can sometimes be found in classrooms and libraries inspiring new generations of gadflies. She's also a firm believer in mutual aid and loves jokes about pirates.

Roadrunner is a long-legged, ground foraging bird in the cuckoo family. Originally indigenous to the North American Southwest, this specimen is currently enjoying being out of the desert and soaking up the moisture of Cascadia.
