Joe Biden’s campaign has hired hundreds of lawyers, including two former solicitors general, ahead of November’s election which is expected to bring an unprecedented number of mail-in votes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The preparations are in the event that President Trump, who has warned about the dangers of mail-in voting, dismisses the election results and they are an effort “to guard the integrity of a fall election already clouded by President Trump’s baseless accusations of widespread fraud,” writes New York Times national political reporter Shane Goldmacher, who first reported on the story.
