Evansville IN city council attempting to defund the police
"Locally, the Evansville City Council President, Alexander Burton has suggested in emails with the other city council members that Evansville should defund the police to the tune of $250,000 and move that money to the Affordable Housing Fund.
An amendment to defund the police (F-2020-15 Amendment No. 4) has been formally filed for the September 14th 5:30pm City Council meeting agenda. The meeting will be held downtown at the Civic Center in room 301 and it will be open for public comment."
