Homeland Security document says White Supremacy group biggest threat, local expert disagrees

By Sara Forhetz Published: Sep. 15, 2020 at 5:13 PM CDT

A different opinion about a draft report about the greatest threat we face.

Leaked documents from the Department of Homeland Security say “White supremacists are the gravest terror threat to the United States.” But a local expert on the topic disagrees, and says we have something even more serious to worry about.

“It was May 20, 2010,” said . That day changed his life forever.

“He was 39. Two weeks short of his 40th birthday,” Paudert said. His son, a police officer, and his son’s work partner were both gunned down by a father and teenage son, who were members of the Sovereign Citizens group, a group Paudert says is anti-government.

When Homeland Security wrote up their latest threat assessment last week, Bob says they’re missing it.

“From my experience, it’s not the biggest threat. If you’ll look, you don’t see much of white supremacy group looting and burning and doing all the things that these other groups are… the Antifa group… the Black Lives Matter group. White Supremacy is a threat, but it is not the biggest threat,” Paudert said.

He has spent his retirement studying threats to local law officers. Those in any group, he says, who are anti-government, anarchists, law enforcement: beware. Paudert has spoken in all 50 states on this topic, backed by the FBI and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

“I’ve been around for 54 years in law enforcement and I’ve seen these movements come and go, it’s not a racial thing. It’s not a black and white thing. A lot of people trying to make it that… they are trying to overthrow our government, and anyone in the know would– they may not tell you that, but that is what is happening,” he said.

Paudert says with so much politicized, and with multiple fallen officers in the Ozarks in recent months, he’s hopeful law enforcement will play it safe, and do their homework– working to understand the threat.

“When I did an interview with 60 Minutes, the guy said you are speaking pretty openly and boldly about Sovereign Citizens… I said yeah, that’s right. He says why? I said I believe what I’m saying is true and others need to know. My son and his partner had no idea what they were up against. I said well I am not going to let that happen… I am going to talk to as many officers as I can across the country.”

CRIMEAttorney General Who Killed Man With His Car While Reporting Hitting a Deer Now Says ‘I Discovered the Body’

Published on September 15, 2020 at 06:12 PM ET

South Dakota Republican Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg now says he is the one who discovered the body of 55-year old Joseph Boever, who had been walking along the highway Saturday night when Ravnsborg struck and killed him.

Ravnsborg now says in a statement released Tuesday, “I discovered the body.”

Governor Kristi Noem, also a Republican, left vital details out of her announcement Sunday evening, including that Ravnsborg had first reported to the police he had struck a deer, and that he was the one who discovered the body.

Ravnsborg was on his way home from a Republican fundraising dinner when he hit and killed Boever. The fundraiser included a raffle for a MAGA “.45 Trump handgun,” the GOP group announced.

The Rapid City Journal reports Ravnsborg “said in a statement Monday night that he and the local sheriff searched a crash scene after he thought he hit a deer Saturday night but they both missed spotting the pedestrian he had hit and killed.”

Ravnsborg, who been cited for speeding six times in four years, “said he used Hyde County Sheriff Mike Volek’s personal vehicle to drive home to Pierre and then returned it to Highmore the next day.”

There are some seemingly curious actions.

“Instead of calling 911 Ravnsborg drove to Volek’s house ‘to report the discovery,’ leaving Boever on the side of the highway where he had been since 10:30 p.m. the night before.”

Ravnsborg’s statement was “written on the letterhead of the Office of Attorney General and sent from his campaign email address.”

One local opinion columnist shared some harsh words about the attorney general and the governor.

“Every step since then taken by Jason Ravnsborg and the state Republican party, including Gov. Kristi Noem, has been to cover Ravnsborg’s rear end.”

SEATTLE (AP) - William H. Gates II, a lawyer and philanthropist best known as the father of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, has died at 94.

Gates died peacefully Monday at his beach home in Washington state from Alzheimer’s disease, the family announced Tuesday.

In an obituary the family credited the patriarch with a “deep commitment to social and economic equity,” noting that he was responsible for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s first efforts to improve global health as well as his advocacy for progressive taxation, especially unsuccessful efforts to pass a state income tax on the wealthy in Washington.

The prospect of violence on Election Day

By Jennifer Harper The Washington Times Tuesday, September 15, 2020

Many Americans are quietly worrying that Election Day — regardless of the outcome — will spark violence and social unrest. That unsettling sentiment is widespread, and drawing input from both sides of the aisle.

“I don’t believe President Trump is a fascist or a dictator in the making, and I don’t believe America is a failed state — I find myself truly worried about only one scenario: that Trump will win reelection and Democrats and others on the left will be unwilling, even unable, to accept the result,” writes Shadi Hamid, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, in a new essay for The Atlantic.

“I worry about protracted legal battles, spasms of political violence, foreign meddling, constitutional crises, and would-be authoritarians who salivate at the chance to suppress their purported enemies. I hope that the United States will maintain its two-century record of peaceful transitions of presidential power, but I can’t guarantee it,” writes Matt Ford, a staff writer at The New Republic, in his own report on the situation.

Well, the citizenry can keep calm and carry on, or they can pay more attention counters another analyst.

“Give the left what they want and there won’t be any trouble. No promises can be made for any other outcome. Democrats are trying to threaten their way to victory, to power. History is replete with examples of political movements using this tactic — a small group of committed radicals attempting to impose their will on an unprepared, unsuspecting, disengaged majority. Win or lose, none of them ended well,” writes talk-radio host Derek Hunter, a contributor to Townhall.

“Expect this chorus of casual threats to grow, and do not expect the Democrat Party to denounce them. Joe Biden can’t even bring himself to denounce specific acts of violence by the liberal mob, only issuing general ‘tsk-tsks’ without naming those committing them. It’s the only energy in the party; it’s all they have. And it’s going to continue until we stop it at the ballot box,” advises Mr. Hunter.

Too funny. I think he was just looking for something he might have set down on that table but the reporter is still talking… "I did want to ask you about social security but I know you're… I just wanted to squeeze it in…"

Repeat of the monologue from Fox & Friends this morning, no doubt. All good, but the questions never seem to get answered in these dumb Town Halls because the questions are impossible to answer without calling the person a lying dog-faced pony soldier. "Why did you say horrible things about our military and will you apologize to them right now?" "Why didn't you tell us how bad muh COVID was in public when you were telling others in private that it was? "Why aren't you sending in the National Guard to stop the riots?" "I've lost my job in the airline industry and my house payment has been on hold for 8 months with no job prospects in sight. I'm a 50 year old White man. What are you going to do to help me?"
