Isis is the original name of the town of Eze, named for the temple to Isis 2000 years ago. Like Rome was named for Romulus, the ancestral god of the Romans.
Like in a lot of mystery cults of 2000 years ago, the theme of a dying and rising god was quite popular, and remains to this day in some surviving cults.
