I don't know that its a dependency problem. Trying to get the latest installed properly on my OS version to check that.

The anon who wrote the shell script, what version of imagemagick do they have?

Does the script use Python or PHP? Does it have any server dependencies?

I'm sorry, I don't know how to find out answers to these questions.

I have enough knowledge to cut and paste, and modify scripts, but not enough knowledge to deal with shell script regular expressions and delimiters. Have played around with that and found it extremely difficult. We love our Linux, but our geeky predecessors did some very strange things when they developed bash.

And p.s.

I've been using ImageMagick for 7+ years for various tasks, have spent hours and days reading the command examples and various websites, searching out command strings that work and testing them. And developed certain commands that worked reliably for certain tasks I needed.

But tearing out my hair if I have to go read hundreds of pages of scripting commands again.

 

Somebody else needs to put on their geeky hat and lead anons by the hand.
