Anon uninstalled ImageMagick then reinstalled it.
ImageMagick version 8:6.8.9.9-7ubuntu5.15
Now it is working.
IDK why it didn't work before. Need to test some more files and see if it is simply a bash parameter passing problem with certain filenames that may contain spaces or underscores or special characters.
