Hundreds Of Overseas Ballots List Wrong Running Mate For Trump

Over 400 Michigan ballots for military and those residing overseas listed the wrong running mate for President Trump, according to The Detroit News.

Instead of Vice President Mike Pence, Libertarian candidate Jeremy Cohen was incorrectly listed as Trump's running mate. It is unclear how many of the over 400 ballots were actually sent to voters before the error was caught and corrected, according to MI Secretary of State spox, Tracy Wimmer.

The error occurred with ballots meant to be mailed or emailed to Michigan residents living abroad under the Military and Overseas Empowerment (MOVE) Act. Those ballots usually are downloaded by local clerks' offices upon request from an overseas voter and either printed and mailed, or downloaded via PDF and emailed to the voter before the election.

Within a roughly two-hour time frame Tuesday afternoon, ballots downloaded from the state website to be mailed or emailed to those overseas “had an error in the presidential race impacting how candidates and running mates were listed,” according to an email sent from the state to clerks impacted by the error. -The Detroit News

Those attmepting to print or download a ballot during a several-hour period were alerted via a banner on their screen that the system was experiencing a problem. The state followed up with an email elaborating further at approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday. According to Wimmer, the ballots were the result of a "temporary error" in the voter file data.

"If a voter does happen to return the incorrect ballot instead of the correct ballot, it will still count," she said, adding "The clerk will be instructed to duplicate a vote for Trump onto a ballot for Trump/Pence."

Grand Rapids city clerk Joel Hondorp said that his office didn't send out any erroneous ballots, and described the issue as "a little bit of a glitch."

Brighton Township clerk Joe Riker says his office only sent out two incorrect ballots.

"There hasn’t been too much guidance from the state of Michigan," said Riker, adding "This just threw a wrench in the gearbox."

REPORT: Attorney General Bill Barr Told Federal Prosecutors to Charge Violent Rioters with Sedition

US Attorney General Bill Barr told federal prosecutors to charge violent rioters with sedition, according to report by The Wall Street Journal.

WSJ reported Bill Barr made these statements during a conference call last week with federal prosecutors.

According to the WSJ, which cited “people familiar” with the conference call, Barr “encouraged the prosecutors to seek a number federal charges, including under a rarely used sedition law, even when state charges could apply.”

According to Law and Crime, the seditious conspiracy statute, 18 U.S. Code § 2384, is a means of punishing those who conspire to violently overthrow or who oppose by force the authority the U.S. government or who by force conspire to seize federal property:

If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Antifa rioters in Portland have been attacking the federal courthouse in Portland for months.

The domestic terrorists launched improvised explosive devices at the federal courthouse while barricading federal agents inside.

The DOJ has filed federal charges against more than 200 militants arrested during the rioting and looting that spread in Democrat-run cities across the country since George Floyd’s death in the spring.

Not So Fast: TikTok-Oracle Deal "Falls Short Of Resolving Concerns", CFIUS Approval Suddenly In Doubt

Hours after former presidential candidate Marco Rubio came out against the new TikTok-Oracle deal, which would spin off TikTok into a US-headquartered independent company majority owned by ByteDance, with Oracle holding a major stake and a contract to supervise the hosting and back-end technology while ByteDance continues to manage TikTok "at arm's length."

Earlier, a senior reporter from Fox Business said the deal was on track to be approved by CFIUS, the Commerce Department board that reviews deals for national-security concerns. After their initial proposal faced pushback, Oracle and ByteDance worked with the administration to devise the new deal, which was unveiled on Monday. Despite some complaints about ByteDance retaining majority control, the deal appeared set to sail through.

However, Marco Rubio came out against the deal a few hours ago. Now, Bloomberg is reporting that the deal is now facing opposition from a group of GOP senators led by Rubio , a group who have presumably been lobbying CFIUS and Trump.

Per Bloomberg, several high-ranking officials, including Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, are now concerned that after a potential transaction, TikTok’s Chinese owner, ByteDance could still access user data from its 100 million or so users in the US, its sources claimed.

Oracle Corp.’s bid for TikTok falls short of resolving concerns of Trump administration officials that the Chinese-owned video-sharing app poses a risk to U.S. national security, according to people familiar with the matter. President Donald Trump has the authority to sign off on a deal, but continuing concerns from national security officials could sway his decision. The agreement remains on the table, with discussions continuing between administration officials and the companies, said the people, who asked not to be named because the talks are confidential. Addressing those remaining issues could pave the way for U.S. approval, the people said.

Many remain wary of the new ownership structure, which Rubio and Sen Josh Hawley have criticized for ceding too much control to ByteDance, Of course, anything less would likely be unpalatable for Beijing.

Treasury Secretary Mnuchin and AG Barr are also examining the deal. Both have some say in the final decision, since both of their departments are part of CFIUS. While Mnuchin has reportedly reviewed the deal, Barr hasn't yet had the time. Officials first expressed their doubts to CFIUS Tuesday night, and the committee is expected to meet again on Wednesday.

We're still waiting on the final word from CFIUS, but if the past is any guide, a rejection would no longer come as a surprise.

A Republican who posed in a QAnon shirt and tweeted the conspiracy theory's hashtag just won a Senate primary in Delaware

Lauren Witzke, a far-right activist who’s previously expressed support for the QAnon conspiracy theory, won the Republican primary for a US Senate seat in Delaware on Tuesday.

Witzke has posed in a QAnon-branded t-shirt and repeatedly tweeted out the QAnon motto, WWG1WGA, which stands for Where We Go One We Go All.

In January, however, Witzke told the Associated Press that she no longer supported the delusion, calling it “more hype than substance.”

The political newcomer will try to unseat Democratic Sen. Chris Coons in the November general election.

Lauren Witzke, a far-right activist who’s previously expressed support for the QAnon conspiracy theory, won the Republican primary for a US Senate seat in Delaware on Tuesday.

Witzke, a former Iowa field organiser for President Donald Trump, campaigned on the president’s “America First” agenda, and advocates banning immigration for 10 years and reducing family welfare benefits.

The political newcomer handily beat her Republican primary opponent, lawyer Jim Demartino, with about 57% of the vote.

Witzke has posed in a QAnon-branded T-shirt and repeatedly tweeted out the QAnon motto, WWG1WGA, which stands for Where We Go One We Go All. The far-right conspiracy posits that Trump is secretly battling a cabal of “deep state” Satan-worshiping pedophiles, including Democratic politicians, who are working to oust him and simultaneously running an international child sex-trafficking ring.

Trump has embraced supporters of the conspiracy, calling them “people that love our country” and citing their support for his presidency.

In recent months, Witzke has attempted to distance herself from this stance, telling the Associated Press in January that she no longer supports the fringe delusion.

QAnon is a “mainstream psyops to get people to ‘trust the plan’ and not do anything,” she said, adding, “I certainly think it’s more hype than substance.”

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee slammed Witzke in a statement to Business Insider, calling her association with QAnon “disqualifying and part of a disturbing trend this cycle of Republican candidates and incumbents embracing or endorsing dangerous conspiracy theories and peddling disinformation in the middle of a crisis.”

A spokesperson for the National Republican Senatorial Committee did not immediately respond to Business Insider’s request for comment.

The Democrats’ War on Blacks

When hearing talk of Democrats’ war on blacks, some may think of the 92 percent of black homicide victims murdered by other blacks mainly in Democrat-run cities. Others may ponder the 300,000 black babies killed yearly in the womb with the approval, sometimes tacit, sometimes more overt, of many white liberals. Yet there’s another front in this war, one more recently opened and far more insidious.

When President Trump early this month ordered an end to mandatory “Critical Race Theory” (CRT) training in the federal bureaucracy — which sometimes involved compelling white male employees to write letters of apology to “marginalized” people — he was, predictably, called a “racist.” But if ending this destructive program is “racism,” well, then whatever racism is, we need more of it.

The CRT “training’s” anti-white nature is obvious. As Heritage Foundation fellow Christopher Rufo wrote last month, reporting on the CRT indoctrination at Sandia National Laboratories, the trainers insisted “that white males must ‘work hard to understand’ their ‘white privilege,’ ‘male privilege,’ and ‘heterosexual privilege.’”

Of course, such privilege exists like unicorns do. But insofar as blacks and other non-whites will believe it does and that they’re (perhaps fatally) disadvantaged, we should ask: How does making people more hopeless and bitter improve their prospects for success?

“Acting White”

It gets far, far worse, however. The trainers also claimed that “rugged individualism,” “a can-do attitude,” “hard work” and “striving towards success” reflected “white male culture,” which they said leads to “lowered quality of life at work and home, reduced life expectancy, unproductive relationships, and high stress.” I guess slacker bums who can’t put food on the table (when they have a table) have no stress.

But this Loser 101 indoctrination isn’t limited to Sandia or even the bowels of federal buildings. It’s in schools as well, where teachers are being told that hard work, planning for the future and punctuality are “white norms.” Try telling that to Asian-descent Americans, who, apparently, are just like white people — only more so.

(One race theory activist, Glenn Singleton, does tell them that, saying that Asian-descent Americans are a “majority” group because of their “white” habits. Honorary white people, I guess.)

Ironically, this is the very attitude black educators lamented, and combated, just a generation ago. Back then it was slacker, criminally inclined black youths (usually driven by jealously, mind you) accusing their higher achieving peers of “acting white.” This was universally recognized as destructive social pressure that militated against the embrace of success-breeding habits. Now the attitude has been lent the respectable veneer of educational theory and the endorsement of academic authorities.

This does violence to an already struggling black underclass. It’s man’s nature to glom on to convenient excuses, and American blacks have long been fed a diet of low expectations for performance and high expectations for copping out. Now pseudo-intellectual social engineers are exacerbating the problem.

Pentagon Seeks to Boost Funding for New Navy Ships Amid China's Buildup - Esper

The Department of Defense seeks to increase funding for shipbuilding in the Navy budget from 11 percent to 13 percent, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said during an event hosted by RAND Corporation on Wednesday.

Esper said the determination to increase funding was made after he met with Deputy Defense Secretary David Norquist and other officials this week to review the findings of a Defense Department assessment report on the needs of the Navy to retain dominance through 2045.

"We must increase funding for shipbuilding," Esper said. "This means we must get back to the same levels of spending dedicated for shipbuilding in the Navy budget that the sea service committed during the Reagan era - 13 percent, as compared to today’s 11 percent. This is something both, the Secretary of the Navy and I are committed to pursuing."

The Defense Department aims to have more than 355 ships, both manned and unmanned, in service, he said.

Esper explained that the future US fleet must have survivability in a high intensity conflict, ability to project power and demonstrate presence as well as capability to deliver precision effects at very long ranges, among other attributes.

China intends to dominate Asia as a world-class military by 2049, Esper said, adding that the Defense Department sent a report to Congress last week stating that China has the largest navy in the world.
