Just a thought and it's probably been said but what about the 'Folding' project that hijacks your GPU to process DNA mapping calculations? Just sign up and it uses your system when your not - and you can feel great about that because it's finding cures to diseases !!! Wonder what else it's doing?

olding@home (FAH or F@h) is a distributed computing project for disease research that simulates protein folding, computational drug design, and other types of molecular dynamics. The project uses the idle processing resources of thousands of personal computers owned by volunteers who have installed the software on their systems.

Maybe it works a little on the 'massive world domination linear programming AI market/everybody corner, manipulate and asset strip optimization algorithm' too? See Cooper's book for some info on early versions.
