reading the whole article really didn't change anything for me.

I see the problem is not so much "insecure networks" but "shitty people". Or people that do shitty things because of the way everything is currently designed.

Once everything is 'open source' and not driven by profit margins but usefulness to humanity, there wont really be much reason for overreaching/complicated security measures.

I don't foresee us evolving to that level of consciousness in the next couple years, but one day…
