Schumer, Warren Introduce Resolution To Cancel $50,000 In Student Loans To "Close Racial Wealth Gaps"

Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) rolled out a proposal on Thursday which calls for the next president of the Untied States to cancel up to $50,000 in student debt in 2021.

The plan would call on the next president to "take executive action to administratively cancel up to $50,000 in Federal student loan debt for Federal student loan borrowers using existing legal authorities…"

The plan would also call on the next president to ensure "no tax liability for Federal student loan borrowers resulting from administrative debt cancellation." Moreover, it asks the next president to pause student loan payments and interest accumulation "for the entire duration of the COVID-19 pandemic."

Doing so, according to the plan, would "ensure that administrative debt cancellation helps close racial wealth gaps."

Angry Judge Slams Bankrupt Hertz' "Offensive" Attempt To Pay Another $5.2 Million In Management Bonuses

It's not exactly clear what the lawyers of bankrupt Hertz were thinking but the first time the company spent a whopping $16.2 million on corporate retention bonuses just one day after it announced it would lay off 10,000 US workers and just days after it filed for Chapter 11, it made front page news.

Perhaps they were simply hoping that the bankruptcy judge overseeing the Chapter 11 case has a short memory or is senile, but whatever the reason when they requested that the management team of Hertz - which landed the iconic company into bankruptcy court for the first time in its 102 year history - be paid another $5.2 million in incentive-linked bonuses, the judge had had enough.

Judge Mary Walrath slammed the application for another bonus program, saying it comes too soon - less than 4 months to be exact - after the $16.2 million in retention money Hertz agreed to hand out to about 340 employees just days before it filed for bankruptcy in May. Walrath’s order also denied a new plan that would have split as much as $9.2 million among about 295 lower-ranking managers.

"It seems offensive to give senior executives bonuses" when some of them got retention payments immediately before Hertz headed for court, Walrath said in a Thursday telephonic hearing according to Bloomberg, which adds that under the pre-bankruptcy retention plan, CEO Paul Stone received $700,000. With the new plan, Stone could have collected as much as $1.6 million.

Typically Bankruptcy Code restricts bonus payments to top executives, in part by requiring them to be tied to performance goals. And while retention payments are allowed, but have tighter restrictions that make them harder to justify. All of this appears to have been lost on Hertz' law firm White & Case, perhaps best known for trying to quietly sell $1 billion in stock to gullible Robinhood traders in early June when the company's stock inexplicably soared, in lieu of arranging a DIP (luckily, that plan also ended up getting nixed). So it was perhaps for the benefit of White & Case's lawyer when Walrath explained that Congress wrote the rules to ensure managers who drove a company into bankruptcy were not rewarded for staying around during a Chapter 11 case.

Of course, Hertz' management has already received some $16 million in bonuses. They were now coming back for another round.

"More has to be done to show why employees who got retention bonuses and agreed to stay with the company are not going to do their best to see that the company survives and succeeds," Walrath said for the benefit of greedy but incompetent management teams everywhere.

According to Bloomberg, as part of the original deal, employees agreed to forgo their 2020 bonuses. The new bonuses "are in reality the 2020 bonuses under a different name," the U.S. Trustee has said.

US Congress Prepares to Approve Second-Largest Taiwan Arms Sale Valued at $7 Billion

US lawmakers are expected to soon approve a massive, new weapons sale to Taiwan. The deal would provide the autonomous island not just with defensive weapons, but also with offensive capabilities in the form of long-range strike missiles and combat drones.

Reuters reported earlier this week that the Trump administration was expected to approve a massive sale of $7 billion worth of arms to Taiwan in the coming weeks. The deal is the second-largest weapons sale by the US to Taiwan and comes on top of some $15 billion in weapons already sold to Taiwan in the last four years.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the deal will include $400 million worth of MQ-9B Reaper drones and related equipment, a sale made possible by recent changes to the Missile Technology Control Regime that had previously barred Washington from making such deals.

The deal also reportedly includes AGM-84H/K SLAM-ER missiles, a long-range land strike variant of the Harpoon anti-ship missile. According to the New York Times, the weapon can be fired from beyond the range of Chinese air defense systems, meaning they would almost certainly be used to strike targets on the Chinese mainland in the event of a conflict.

Strangely, some Taiwanese media has been reporting the plans are nothing but speculation by the media, the Global Times reported on Thursday.

Last month, Washington finalized another larger deal to provide Taipei with 90 advanced F-16V “Viper” interceptors for $8 billion. Under a previous deal, the US is also updating older F-16 fighter jets sold to Taiwan in the 1990s to make them technologically equal to the F-16V, which can go toe-to-toe with some of the People’s Liberation Army’s best aircraft.

Beijing considers Taiwan a wayward province and part of its national territory, meaning that US weapons sales are regarded as the arming of rebel forces and a gross violation of Chinese sovereignty. With every new weapons sale, China has increased its objections, calling on the US to respect the One-China Principle it assented to in the 1972 Shanghai Communiqué and subsequent agreements.

“The Taiwan question concerns China's sovereignty, territorial integrity and core interests. China has firm resolve in upholding its sovereignty and security. We urge the US to earnestly abide by the one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiqués and stop arms sales to and military ties with Taiwan, lest it should gravely harm China-US relations and cross-strait peace and stability,” Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian said in August.

The island is governed by the remnants of the Republic of China, the government that ruled all of China between 1912 and 1949, when the communist Red Army seized all of mainland China, won the civil war and established the People’s Republic of China in Beijing. While Taipei has never declared independence, it functions as a de facto independent state and has enjoyed informal support from the US ever since Washington switched its recognition of the Chinese government from Taipei to Beijing in 1979.

Satchuel Cole, Prominent Black Lives Matter Leader In Indiana, Lied About Being Black

Indiana "community leader" Satchuel Cole is the latest "Black" Black Lives Matter leader to be exposed as White.

Indianapolis has its own Rachel Dolezal!!!!!! Her name is Jennifer Benton and she goes by Satchuel Cole. She’s lied and said a black was her father and he’s not. Wooooooooooooowwww. pic.twitter.com/0wdSUMxqNh

From the Indy Star:

Satchuel Cole, a highly visible community leader advocating for racial and social justice in Indiana, has apologized for misleading people about Cole's own race, saying "I have taken up space as a Black person while knowing I am white."

Cole — who uses pronouns they/them — worked with Indy10 Black Lives Matter and Indy SURJ, apologized and admitted lying in a social media post. Cole, who also was active in the LGBTQ community, did not respond to multiple phone messages and emails from IndyStar this week.

"Friends, I need to take accountability for my actions and the harm that I have done. My deception and lies have hurt those I care most about. I have taken up space as a Black person while knowing I am white. I have used Blackness when it was not mine to use. I have asked for support and energy as a Black person. I have caused harm to the city, friends and the work that I held so dear," Cole posted on a Facebook page under the name Satch Paige.

She should have just said she was trans-racial.

Here's a video of Cole from Feb 2017 doing her shtick:

The news follows the unmasking of white graduate student CV Vitolo-Haddad, who just resigned from her teaching position at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for falsely claiming to be a person of color.

— Andy Ngô (@MrAndyNgo) September 17, 2020

As The Post Millennial reports:

As first reported by the Wisconsin State Journal, CV Vitolo-Haddad, whose non-binary pronouns are “they” and “them,” admitted to misrepresenting their race. The academic is Southern Italian and Sicilian, not black or Latino as they've previously purported.

"In trying to make sense of my experiences with race, I grossly misstepped," Vitolo-Haddad wrote in a September 8 article on the blogging platform Medium. "I went along with however people saw me. I over-identified with unreliable and unproven family history and latched onto anything I remembered growing up."

Vitolo-Haddad acknowledged that their actions were "deeply misguided" and "caused an incredible amount of hurt for the Madison community" as well as "everyone who has been exposed to this public reckoning."

Expressing deep regret to those "I deceived by inserting myself into Black organizing spaces I didn’t belong in," Vitolo-Haddad called the deception "parasitic and harmful."

They went on to realise that "perception is not reality" and "[r]ace is not flat" but a "social construct rife with contradictions."

“I have let guesses about my ancestry become answers I wanted but couldn’t prove,” Vitolo-Haddad stated in a prior confession. “I have let people make assumptions when I should have corrected them.”

[…] Vitolo-Haddad reportedly "lived an economically privileged life" with their white, affluent Italian American family, growing up in a $1.5 million home in Florida and attending an expensive private high school.

Hydroxychloroquine: Drug that could be our virus saviour

A divisive drug touted by Donald Trump may hold the secrets to stopping the spread of COVID-19, and its potential is absolutely huge.

Each morning before Claire Lobb sets off to work on the frontline of Victoria’s coronavirus second wave crisis, she pops a mysterious pill.

There’s a 50-50 chance that what she takes is hydroxychloroquine, a controversial drug touted by Donald Trump, that could potentially stop millions of people around the world getting COVID-19.

Alternatively it could be just an extra dose of sugar as a late garnish for her breakfast. She has no way of knowing.

But the simple act she undertakes each morning has the potential to change the world.

It’s part of a groundbreaking trial of the hotly-debated drug here in Australia that has the potential to be a “game-changer” in the global battle against COVID-19.

The cheap and readily available drug has been used for more than 30 years for a variety of reasons. Now researchers behind the trial say it could potentially stop people getting the virus and ultimately save lives.

If successful, it could be used by people who want to travel overseas. They would just have to take it during their trip.

It could protect people who may not be able to take a COVID vaccine for health reasons, or those in countries where a vaccine could take a long time to reach.

It could protect Australians, and people around the world, who are most at risk from COVID-19 including aged care residents and staff, meatworks staff and healthcare workers.

Ms Lobb understands what that means as much as anybody.

As a nurse practitioner at Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital Emergency Department she has been on Australia’s frontline against the coronavirus.

Every day, she is tasked with admitting Melburnians who may or may not have the disease.

“We don’t always know and it can be quite confronting at times not always knowing what we’re dealing with,” she told news.com.au.

With mental health issues in patients spiking and a massive rise in healthcare worker infections in recent weeks, she said work has been “intense and stressful”.

“It hasn’t always a great time to be working just because of the intensity of the situation,” she said.

So given the stress of her work life, why would she want to take part in an experiment on a drug that was endorsed by the same US President who appeared to suggest injecting bleach could be a coronavirus cure?

To understand why, you have to look at a key difference in what Mr Trump said about hydroxychloroquine and what this new study in Australia is looking into.

Talmud + Zionism + Communism _ Youtube Banned this video!!

This Video was Deleted on Youtube!

To understand all #Communist Movements and where they get their money and support you must understand that Communism is linked to the #Zionist movement in one way or another.

Derived from German enlightenment philosophy, #Talmud laws, and beliefs that are #occultic in nature, the Communist theory came into being.

In our previous video, we spoke of the history of how this Talmudic theology would permeate all the Enlightenment period thinkers of whom the German Father of drafting communism came to be influenced by Karl Marx. And with the help of Adam Weishaupt & another #Talmudic Scholar, Moses Hess, they created this new theory for governing the world. Its end goal is the destruction of mankind’s traditions & the total slavery of the world’s populations to an elite ruling class.

French finance minister tests positive for Covid-19, as country grapples with record new infections

France’s Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire has tested positive for the coronavirus and is isolating at home. Meanwhile, France recorded its worst day for new cases of Covid-19 since the pandemic began.

Le Maire announced his diagnosis via Twitter on Friday, noting that he has no symptoms of the virus, but saying he will still “stay in solitary confinement for 7 days,” per government regulations.

Meanwhile, 13,215 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in France since Thursday, setting a new daily record. The previous record was set only a day earlier, when 10,593 cases were reported. Health officials also reported the deaths of 154 coronavirus patients since Thursday, bringing the country’s toll to date to 31,249.

France is one of several European countries experiencing a resurgence in coronavirus cases. Across the continent, more than 300,000 cases were recorded last week, World Health Organization Regional Director Hans Kluge said at a press conference on Thursday, adding that the spike in infections “should serve as a wake-up call for all of us.”

In France, the rise may possibly be attributed to a dramatic increase in testing. Health officials there tested a record number of people in the last week of August, with the government aiming to further ramp-up its efforts until a million people per week are tested.

When the coronavirus first swept Europe this spring, France was among the hardest-hit nations, and it imposed one of the continent’s most draconian lockdowns in response. Earlier this month, Health Minister Olivier Veran ruled out another nationwide lockdown, but individual regions and cities have implemented their own restrictions to curb the virus’ spread.
