With Roberts comped, the vote would have been 5-4 in favor of Biden. With a 4-4 tie, the lower court ruling stands. Trump wins.

Problem with this scenario is if the Biden crooks get a lower court ruling and it goes to the SC, then they win.

At least with the 4-4 tie, we have a chance a lower court ruling for us will stand.
