It’s important that the SC nominee be confirmed as early as possible and definitely before election day. From what I understand that’s what POTUS intends to do. If there were a nomination but no confirmation before election day, the Dems would be rabidly running to the polls to try to prevent the confirmation. If on the other hand we get the confirmation before they vote, Dems will be demoralized while Repubs will be energized and turn out in even higher numbers.
