Supreme Court Justices are at the head of power in our country.

They will mix with lawmakers and politicians and dignitaries.

They will teach seminars and give interviews of some influence.

They should embody intellect and talent in their actions.

This is not a time to impose controversy on the nation.

We must feel a sense of participation in the process.

Personally, I find Joan Larsen fitting all those good parameters.

She is well experienced in all aspects of the practice of law.

And she would bring a very intelligent husband with her.

He know the SEC well, and knows ways to fix it.

I picture him at social gatherings in interesting discussions.

Looking at the women on the Supreme Court list

a few details stood out.

Amy Coney Barrett - adopted two children from Haiti (oh boy)

she also belonged to a group that requires an OATH (oh oh)

and which designates an advisor (oh oh)

to me: a FAIL

Alison Eid is married to an Egyptian-American, & has two children

She has made controversial judgments on cases with big impacts.

(I didn't feel impressed by her accomplishments.)

Britt Grant is married to a former CYA (no thanks)

Barbara Lagoa impressed me.

Her husband's father was appointed to his judgeship by Bill Clinton

She hasn't been on an appeals court very long at all.

Her appointment would make a statement but leave questions.

It would be good to build more history for her decisions to be evaluated.
